Chipset Fan not running

id prolly replace it so as not to mess anything of from getting too hot but... up to you... if its not hot to the touch really while you loaded on it dont worry about it

Chipset Fan not running

I put a passive Zalman on mine... or just get another fan close to it... should be runnin all the time I believe....those little fans are pretty crappy... but yours seems to have lasted a while... but if its not locking up..should be fine

Gtx 260 SLI vs Gtx 280 vs 4870 x2 (for 1920x1200 gaming)

I agree, been very pleased with my 4870 x2 @ 19000x1200 also you know you can add single 4780's for cross fire not necessarily an 4870 x2

A dead LCD monitor

I dont want to sound like an idiot.. but could it just be the Inline PowerSupply is bad? if it has one. Might wanna look at that... if you can find an aftermarket one. Also.. Just a note... from perosnal Exp. Did you try it on another PC? I had a DVI port flake out on me.. once... only...

Packing tape safe?

No its not...such low voltage... the packing tape can insulate just as well as the E-tape a lil different thatn AC 120v 50 Amps... all he is doing is keeping a small amount of voltage from reaching its target. Only issue would really be the heat of the CPU degrading the Tape wich the...

I like the 1.65v route...LOL. but im water cooled...buty like AIG said...this is the annoying part of Oc ing and what makes frustrating.. the checking, changing, and then testing, and re testing.... etc

on the motherboards Im using? hmm had no real issues migrating settings from one to the other. But, I'll consider myself lucky. since Im running very similar systems to OP with vista and all. I never used ReadyBoost. dunno if that causes any issues or not. And what is your memory set up...

Q6600 Owners I need your Advice

I often hear people talk about how their Q6600s dont go high enuff.. With air and water I can float around the 3.6 - 4.0Ghz range.. on both mobos Ive OC'd my Q6600 the two boards being DFI LP P35 and also a Biostar Tpower P45.. keep your multiplier and Dividers low.. and see what your FSB...

Best P45 Board under $200? Get the Biostar I45 or Asus P5Q Pro or P5Q-E?

E8400 and Biostar Tforce I45

Just kinda getting my feel of this board. AMI Bios are a bit different than Award so kinda working around that a bit. However, I am having quite a bit of luck getting the FSB up nice and high on stock cooling. Im able to reach in to the 560-575 region with little trouble and all of the trouble...

Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz, 2 options....you make the decision!

I really enjoyed 500Mhz X 8 due to higher memory frequency than I did the 440 x 9. the benchmarks said that the higher frequency gave me better results compared to tighter timmings... but each system is different. you try screwing with a 7 multi? and an even higher FSB? run a benchmark...

why not just oc that chip and see if you like it.... not going to notice a real difference with a quad for gaming...My Q6600 @ 4Ghz during crysis still got beat around at 1920 x 1200 With high settings AA and AF on... dunno if it was the 8800Gtx not handleing it or what... but....your money...

Q6600 confusion with temperatures

possibly a concave or convex IHS on chip? have you checked the heat spreader on the chip to make sure it is flat and have you checked tightness or snugness of fit while on the PC. Pretty big heatsink. If your using push pins for mounting Id recommend finding a back plate for it. I believe...
