My C-drive is a 150GB Raptor and is one partition, I've installed Vista on it and all my programs and games. Right now I've got something like 80GB left free. Paging file is also configured on my second drive.
If your ISP throttles torrent bandwidth (which is very likely, just like Leros already said), you can try to turn on encryption and see if your speeds and seeds improve. Here is a nice overview of different clients and their methods to activate encryption.
I suggest you check this link for all your freeware iPod needs. I personally use floola to transfer my music which is great because it runs of your iPod. It does not do retagging I believe. Musicbrainz is a winner in this case, as is Mediamonkey.
