Hate to do it... but *BUMP*. Really interested if anyone has experience with the EnhanceBox, I'm really liking it. Cooling doesn't seem that impressive, but with the lower power drives should be sufficient. I'm also thinking of dumping RAID6 since it's only going to be a backup. RAID5...

Good points all around everyone. pjkenned, I definitely plan on waiting until the drives are released before buying the card. The most I would do, if I do settle on Areca, is buy an extra module. Looks like you can get a 2GB for around $35, seems like a good compromise from 512MB to 4GB...

Good points pjkenned, thanks. Hopefully, if the SSDs prices become more reasonable, when I move to external server, I can keep any I/O intensive items in my case (like VMs/Games) and purely keep the storage items on the server (Backups/Media). Boot Disk doesn't concern me since I'm on a...

At first glance, it doesn't seem like Areca 1680 brings anything to the table for the price point. I don't mind paying upwards for $900 but it needs to be pretty compelling. I'm going to read up on the software management. Is there any good review sites for this stuff? I think at this...

Anyone have experience with a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4P

Well I pulled the trigger on this board. Haven't OC'd it yet... but I'm glad to report that 8GIGs of RAM, 2x4GB, works just great. I so lucked out on getting the OCZ 8Gig kit... that thing didn't stay in stock for long on Newegg. Oh and it definitely comes with ICH10R

Hmm Gigabyte lists the ICH10R as the Southbridge Chipset. Raid isn't much of a concern for me. I think I will eventually build a RAID5 array, but when that comes I'm going with a hardware-based RAID card. Though if I do that I may put a RAID 0 array in for "performance". I think by that time...

Anyone have experience with a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS4P

Plan on combining a Gigabyte with GA-EP45-DS4P with a Q6600. I like it mainly because of the feature set, the silent pipe cooling, and the support up to 16gb RAM. I want to do 2x4GB Module, if it goes in stock anywhere, to begin and upgrade to 16gb at a later point. I'll take any experience...

Think I'm going to get the 610w. Seems like the best PS at that wattage at that price, even without the rebate... no ? Building new quad core soon... Probably completely overkill (not into gaming) but meh.

I've downloaded a lot of ISOs since getting it, but the one apps I've installed have been Office 2007 Enterprise Edition and Visio 2007 Pro. Both activated without issue. I plan on giving Svr 2008 a whirl once I make room on my Drive with all of my VMware disks.
