Previous high score was 17,522 CPU score - 14,791 GPU Score - 18,671 New score is 18,174, so its actually 652 points gained overall CPU Score - 14,784 GPU Score 19,678 card clocked at 1038/1305 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1694003

I have gained 700 points on previous high score in Vantage. The points all came from the GPU score which gained a whopping 1000 points!! Nice jump in performance.

Q9450 upgrade questions

Have you tried using "afudos" to flash the bios? Is there an option in your bios to enable usb keyboard?

ATI 5870 issues I can't solve

Try using "driver sweeper" to get rid of any old video card drivers that might be left on your system, and then reinstall catalyst 9.10 or even 9.11.

PC gaming is going down the tubes

Console gaming is definately more attractive with the 720p and 1080p tv's. I bought a PS3 because the graphics look so good now, but soon realized that PC gaming is still much better. Especially for FPS games.

The shop I go to has the Sapphire 5870 at $429, with a 1 year in store hot swap warranty(in Canada). They also got the Asus, and MSi 5850's. Decisions decisions

louis is looking for a new 2 x 2gb kit

My Patriot ram will do 500mhz at 5-5-5-15 and 460mhz at 4-4-4-12. That's pretty darn good for paying $63 . I got a set of Mushkin Redline DDR2 8000 (2 x 2GB) on the way.

9.5 multi won't work on E8400. Your sig is right 3753mhz not 3.96ghz. It will let you set it to 9.5 x 417 = 3.96ghz, but it will boot at 9 x 417 = 3.75ghz. You can use 8.5, 7.5, 6.5 multipliers.

Set system memory multiplier to 2.00b(1:1). up fsb to 400 and maybe bump vcore a notch or two

Asus EN9600GT TOP and ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe

I installed my GTS in my old A8N SLI Deluxe mobo. It worked no problem with an Enermax 465 watt psu. It should work with 9600GT

What mobos recognize Wolfdale out of the box?

Gigabyte P35-DS3L Rev.2 works out of the box. Gigabyte X38-DS4 works with Wolfedale and Yorkfield out the box.

GA-EX38-DS4 vs ASUS P5E?

I have the X38-DS4 and the P5E. I prefer the DS4. The main reasons I choose the DS4 is because it overclocks better and the P5E has bad vdroop. I'm using the Tuniq now and fits no prob, but haven't installed it on the P5E.

Mobo for Q9450?

I don't think my ram likes the 266 strap. I can run the same ram at 500mhz with my e8400, but at 440mhz using 266 strap causes blue screen.

Mobo for Q9450?

@runawayprisoner, I have a X38 P5E. Can u link where it says that the FSB wall was caused by strap control on X38/X48 boards, and at least it's been confirmed on ASUS boards., or explain more? Thanks EDIT: Nevermind I found the info:) use the 266mhz strap, and then try more than 450 fsb...

Mobo for x3350

I have the P5E and X38-DS4. They both work well with my Q9450. My DS4 supports my cpu with F1 bios(first bios). I had the quad installed in my P5E, but I felt the DS4 likes it better :) I have an E8400 installed in the P5E. The DS4 is easier to configure, so if you don't plan to OC much...

Has anyone done close to 500FSB on X38 boards?

I've had this board prime stable at 8 x 500mhz with my E8400, and I probably could have went higher.

X3350 / Q9450 Overclocking Thread

Temps were in high 60's and low 70's using core temp. I just subract the 10c to get Real Temp, which would be high 50's low 60's.(I didn't realize Real Temp works with Vista now. lol) I Was stressing with OCCT Vcore was 1.33v Not sure if i can use less. mch was 1.5v and fsb was +.20 Haven't...

X3350 / Q9450 Overclocking Thread

Just got my Q9450 last night, and hit a wall at 3.6Ghz. I haven't really had a chance to see if I can go beyond 3.6ghz. I'm going to need a better heatsink.

Motherboard for Q9450

I would not recommend the Gigabyte P35-ds3l. The last bios is quite old. It supports the Wolfedale out of the box, but I don't know about the Yorkfield(Q9450). I happen to have a Q9450 showing up anyday now, and already have the P35-DS3L. I will definately try the two. EDIT: My bad...
