How good is the Rage MAXX?

what type of applications would you be running on it??? if you intend to play games and such i would reccomend a Voodoo 3, or maybe a Geforce 2 mx which is around 120, they are both much faster in general than the Maxx, in order to get decent performance you need a very fast processor like an...

Cyrix pr rating is ridiculous

But have you seen the benchmarks for the newest cyrixs'... The 667 doesnt even compare with k6-2 450, and thats not a real contender itself... im not dissing the old cyrix maybe it was good... i never had one ... but they are way behind everybody now... like some reviewers say: Via should...

Help! Modem dials on its own!!

Hey if thats not the problem you should take a look at your startup programs... its possible you might be able to find one which is trying to update itself or something...

Does any one think this is a good deal?

Depends on what youre looking for... notice the 11megs of vram? well thats coming off your reg mem... my bro has a 466 with almost all the same specs... the problem he has now is that there is no agp slot... im not sure but notice how it says direct agp and not that there is a slot available...

Can someone help please???

I have Windows 98 SE and I just reinstalled it... Now there are all with these extra files in my windows directory with names like detlog.old , MSDos.--- , Setuplog.old , Suhdlog.old , and Win386.swp which is 150 megs... is it safe to delete these?? Thanks in advance for any advice...

Best bang for the buck would definitively have to be the Duron with all the praise thats been going on about it ... the only problem is that you should wait a bit to get a good mobo... classic 700 with abit ka7 also rocks... both kill the celery II either way

So I just picked up a V2 SLI setup over in FS/FT...

my old sli setup was running at 100 but that was about all i could get even with decent cooling it just isnt really built for overclocking

If you had to start fresh with an entirely new system....

Depends on 2 things... do you want your system right away or do you wanna wait... you can buy a good cbo system now with an i815 board or something similar for a really good price or even a Duron but since youre not interested in that... its up to you but either way stay away from rdram for now...

Cruelty to PC's.....have you ever caused your PC physical harm, in a fit of temper, while playing a game?

I have an old 166 besides my new one ... most unreliable piece of sh*t i ever seen... strangely whenever it screws up i found if you shake it and bitchslap it just turns back on... one of these days im just gonna lauch it out my 3 story apartment window...sorta like my old mouse and keyboard...

Does the Geforce draw too much power ? Are there problems ?

K7V Athlon 700 Hercules GF2 i downloaded WCPUID and it says my mobo only supports 1x 2x and im running at 2x. i have all the latest drivers and my card supports 4x so can anyone help me with this ??? Thanks
