bizarre mouse click problem

Dell doesn't supply install media, only their own repair disks that wipe everything and restore the original factory config. I do have a volume license install disc of XP, but no key. Can I somehow extract the currently used key?

bizarre mouse click problem

Bizarre problem with an external mouse (Intellimouse explorer 4.0 / USB) on my Latitude D610 notebook. left mouse clicks are not detected unless I click and hold the button for .5 sec or longer. I thought it was a bad mouse so I bought a new one, same problem. Tried various USB ports, etc...

damn straight...I have a friend who is looking at the Mazda6 / TSX / Accord, and I keep telling him to at least look at the A4 1.8T. Though if I had to pick between those 3, it would be the accord b/c the interior on the 6 is hideous.

HDTV PCI Card $299

incorrect. The WinTV-D is capable of receiving HD OTA signals, but it can only display in 480i (on the monitor or TV via S-Video, which looks damn good). It can also record the HD stream unalltered. There is no such thing as a "digital cable tuner" currently.

Mobile Radeon..

It's well worth the upgrade to the Mobility Radeon 7500 if you plan to use your laptop for any kind of gaming. It's _much_ faster than the G2Go, and at this point has better drivers. I have one in my new Inspiron 8100 and it rocks

PowerDVD doesnt work in winXP but WinDVD works?

sounds like a video acceleration issue. Be sure you have the latest vid drivers, and possibly try unchecking 'use hardware acceleration' in the powerDVD video options. I know hardware acceleration doesn't work correctly with ATI cards at this point. WinDVD may work because it's not using...

TV-Out Function Does NOT Work on 8500 Retail! Help!

the problem is most likely that the radeon is not detecting a 75-ohm load from the TV. If it doesn't detect it then it thinks nothing is connected. Try connecting to a VCR first if you have one, I remember having to do this once with an old TV I had a few years back

Any soundcards output from the digital audio jack all the time?

most current model sound cards allow you to selectively output either the front L/R PCM stream or the DD/DTS bitstream. I know this is true for the SB Live/Audigy, Herc GTXP, TBSC, Philips Acoustic/Rhythmic/Seismic Edge (703/705/706 models only).

DivX problem with TV out

try updating your vid drivers - your problem is that it's not properly outputting the overlay surface (which is used to display videos) so all you are seeing is a black box.

any of the PCI WinTV cards should have similar picture quality as they all use the same decoder chip. The difference in models is the type of video inputs (composite, s-video) and the sound output (mono, stereo, or decoded pro-logic). For optimal image quality be sure to use DScaler.

problem with my z560's and soundcard

your AC97 audio is most likely does not have a rear out - you are probably mistaking the line-in for the rear out. Either that, or you need to enable 4 speaker output somewhere in sound settings (dunno where as I've never used AC97 audio...heh)

Hauppauge WinTV card

the card can handle anything up to 720x480 (NTSC). What resolution you can capture at is dependant on the software you use. I use WinDVR and can capture full res MPEG2, but it's highly dependant on your CPU

get a cheap Hauppauge WinTV PCI card (or any other card using the Brooktree/Conexant 84x or 87x decoder chip) and use DScaler (freeware) and you'll be all set
