[TFTCentral - Review] Acer XB270HU - 27" 144Hz IPS G-Sync

I don't have Gsync display yet, but messed around with a ROG Swift display unit at a store. There's a checkbox for Gsync in the driver settings. If it's turned on, then any in-game vsync option will toggle between Vsync and Gsync instead of Vsync and tearing.

At what point do pixels become too small to make visible difference?

And the 140PPI of a 32" 4K display is already very nice - about 30% higher better than a run-of-the-mill 27" 1440p display offers. Move it a bit farther back on the desk than usual, and it's "retina".

What textures can be used says nothing about how fast the GPU is, so the texture setting is irrelevant. The different AA settings on the two GPUs are significant: they imply the Titan is faster, which it is not.

The table lists otherwise identical performance settings for the Titan and the 780Ti, but TXAA for the Titan where 2xMSAA is listed for the 780 Ti. TXAA takes more performance than 2xMSAA. Thus the table seems to imply the Titan is faster than the 780Ti.

Does a good 2560x1440 27" monitor exist?

The TN panel and the viewing angle + gamma shift + color shift compromises coming with it are the ROG Swift's real problems.

For around $350, is the GTX970 or R9 290x my better option?

I have no idea how this thread has 69 posts and not a single one mentions G-Sync. That's half of the reason why I'd go with the 970. If you choose to take advantage of it, it can be a huge bump in effective performance. Consider two cards of equal power, of which only one has G-Sync support...

According to all reports I've read, yes, they are very good. The only one of the G-Sync displays I'd consider at this point is the 27" 1440p ROG Swift, though. G-Sync doesn't matter as much with a 1080p display since it's easier to reach solid 60FPS there, and on the other end, a 28" 4K display...

So it seems. I haven't followed the F2P field much. The SW game being full 3D, if that indeed is the case, is still unusual. To me it would be a sign that the game is not made for the absolute lowest common denominator; real 3D navigation takes a little bit of something from the player at least.
