Very impressive results. This is much better than I had expected to see. I hope the Crysis numbers can be fixed by using newer drivers, however.

Theres a high chance its because of gddr5 shortages. They ran into shortages with the 4870, and it uses 1/4 of the ram the x2 will use. Late august is quite the delay. I think the expectations were late July at the earliest, early August at the latest.

I would think that would dramatically raise the price. Honestly, I'd be more inclined to believe that it's a misprint. It's certainly welcome news if it turns out to be true, however!

Wow, I'm surprised to see that Tom's has no 4850 review... and the three NVIDIA features on the main site is pretty damning. I had no idea they were tilted like this. It could be a coincidence I guess, but it looks like bias to me. That's far from being something equivalent to a review.

I'm sure there are driver optimizations that are lacking for the 8800gts, but you should also factor in that the 9xxx series has advanced compression that gives it an edge as well. In addition, there are bound to be further optimizations on the 9800gtx as well, especially considering the poor...

That's pretty weak that they jumped that much in price, but if it's newegg you're talking about, those cards were on a 'month end sale' so it's more because of that than the new release.

I disagree. It's the fastest single gpu card now, ahead of the gts which its based on by a significant margin in all reviews, and at an attractive price. There's disadvantages, but all things considered, I think it's a decent card

The bios cpu temperature is the motherboard's reading of the temperature around the processor and hsf. What you need to look at is the temperatures of the cores, which i've never seen measured in the bios (but it might be on some boards). For this, you'll need coretemp or realtemp, but even...
