College Loan Question

Don't put yourself under that financial burden. You'll be living with it for the rest of your life. Just think about it- 100 THOUSAND dollars. I'll be a college freshman next year as well so I understand where you're coming from, but surely there are better alternatives.

Buy a MBP... now or later?

I have this problem too about whether or not to buy a Macbook now. I mean, I could always wait until the summer and see what updates Apple puts out, because college doesn't start until August... can't figure out what to do. $1400 is the current price I can get a Macbook through with 2.4ghz/...

Just looking at different options. I can easily upgrade that RAM to 4GB for about $50 bucks. And no I won't be doing INTENSE gaming, just basic stuff that this vid card can handle. Also would have OS x and Windows on the Macbook, so I think it's a good price comparitively speaking.

Bad was never released as a single, but still it is my favorite U2 song and I think it epitomizes what they are all about. Check out the Rattle and Hum and Norwegian Wood performances of it.. Bono's vocals are absolutely top notch.

What will Apple's Back to school sales in the summer be like?

Just wondering on how big Apple's back to school sales will be in the summer. With my student discount now, I can save $100 on a Macbook, and possibly even more if I go the refurbished route. What can I expect from Apple then? Bear in mind have never used Mac's before.

For word processing on a Macbook, do you all suggest getting Microsoft Office 2007 and using that with Vista? I'm still not sure if there is a decent word processor that comes standard on OS X. I'll be doing alot of writing for my major so it's pretty essential..

I've found a good deal on the Apple site through the student discount, so might go that route. This is really a big decision for me, ha! Still a bit tentative on only 2 gigs of RAM. Does everyone else find that sufficient for their Macbook use? Also, if I have Windows installed correctly...

Alright here's what I've decided to do. My major and the college recommend Vista Business, so I'm gonna go the extra step and get the 64 bit for the same price. I'm going to get the 1GB 1 DIMM memory at 0$, and then get 2x2GB corsair memory from Newegg to make 4GB at a much cheaper price then...
