Sound Card upgrade

I've been using the onboard sound of my 680i mobo and want something that will ouput 5.1 to my A/V reciever either by optical or coaxial for surround in games. I also need something that will work under Vista 32bit, ive been eyeing up the Turtle Beach Montego seems decent and a good price...

Best bang for the buck Intel Cpu

I just picked up a XFX 8800gt and im thinking my P-D 3.2 is kinda weak, wanna do a cheap but worthwhile cpu upgrade. Budget for the cpu is $150 MAX. Ill be putting it in a p5gc basic entry level asus board with corsair 2gig 667 value ram, thanks..

Ok so i decided i needed to spend a little more so i ended up grabbing a 8800gts. i can run gears of war decently at 1400x900 with alot of the settings on high but during heavy action parts there is lag.. So im thinking of upgrading my cpu from a PD 3.2 to something a little more powerful...

Running network cable through a home

here in canada i havent found anything close to 20 for a wireless nic, im not a fan of buying stuff online, so im kinda limited to what i can find at BB, futurecrap or ma and pa stores. Besides how much is all this wire gonna cost?

for me to go wireless i figure I would spend well over $300 dlink wirless g router is like 90 3 wireless g nics about 80 each total is about 330 plus tax

Gonna be moving into a townhouse in a few weeks and im just wondering if there's a guide somewhere on how to install network cable between floors, there will probably be 3 or so computers on the network, i dont wanna bother with wireless because of the cost and slow speed. thanks

Just bought far cry and im really getting into it now, but sometimes it just runs to slow, and textures diasapear. i have the settings at medium and res is at 1024x768 my system is nothing special xp2000+ 512ram radeon 8500le so im looking for something cheap but will still give me a step up...

Im thinking of making a home-made sub-woofer with an old reciever and speaker. I plan on hooking it up with a single rca cable from the SUB-OUT on my yamaha reciever and then from there to the AUX-IN on the old reciever. Now the only thing im concerned with is could this harm my yamaha reciever...

Burned cd seen as audio cd in winme???

I think what your problem is that the cdrom drive has trouble reading cdr's burned at fast speeds (my 36x creative drive struggled to read data cd's burned at anything higher than 1x and would either crash the machine or recognize it as an audio cd) And i think it's just a coincidence that...

5400 rpm performance

Overall system performance should't be affected that much, it may be slightly slower to a casually user. I own a 7200 rpm drive and the speed is nice but i don't think it's worth the 20-30% increase in price.

im currently running a p3 600, 256megs ram, radeon 32 meg ddr, and i've noticed that some games don't run as fast as i want them too so would it be worthwhile to upgrade my chip to a p3 1000mhz?

that's exactly right..im not sure if versions prior to Ghost 2001 can burn directly to a cd though

Ghost will copy basically everything including the file structure, partitions, os, apps, drivers, user settings..it'll make an exact copy of A partition but it won't do multiple partitions at the same time, and no you can't "dump" an image to the same drive that is being ghosted...

I think just the Tray load pioneer Tray loads lack digital out..Oh and there's nothing like sweet ass slot load, man i could just spend hours putting in and pulling out my cd's.. i have the 105s btw and it's generally not that loud and it can read any crap cd media i throw at it
