Windows ME

I am running a Duron 650 OC'ed to 850 on an Asus A7V board, using a TNT2 Ultra video card. I have the VIA 4 in 1 drivers installed (version 4.24) and am using the Detonator 3 Drivers. All on Windows ME. However I cannot seem to run quake 3. Has anybody experienced this, or know how to fix it...

My new rig is a DOG!

Or maybe even the CUV4X :-) I love the CUV4X. It has the 133A chipset, which is quite nice.

My thoughts exactly........ The card would rock @$$!!! :-) In fact I am sure that they can achieve a heck of a lotta performance out of the GeForce 2 modified to work with tile based rendering. After all, the GeForce 2 is hella powerful, but mem bandwidth is limiting it SEVERELY!

looking for new speakers ($120 or less)

Get the FPS 1000's then. My friend has it and they sound quite nice. Don't expect low bass, the bass is more punchy, than low and rumbling.

Whats this thing that IBM has that doubles your memory by compressing data before it gets to your memory modules?

It will add some bit of latency, but since it's a hardware based implementation, the latency will be minimal (hopefully). And also......why will it work with RAMBUS only?? I thought that it was for SDRAM modules, and not RDRAM modules.

heh!! Good question. I would ask them something along the lines of....... "Seeing the fact that memory bandwidth is an issue, does nVidia plan on using Tile Based rendering in it's future cards" :-)

Hey, I was at http://www.frostytech.com and I saw this at their main page........ Basically, the geeks, er... viewers ask their questions and http://www.VideoCardDrivers.com will select the top 15 questions (or more depending on if they are good) and then submit them to nVidia for their review...
