Solved! Video card bracket holes slightly off

Question Source if chipset drivers for Ryzen: AMD or mobo manufacturer?

Question Older USB2 webcam in a 3.2 Gen2 port

Just tried it. Reinstalls no problem if I plug it back into the Gen2 port. My guess is some driver got downloaded once it finally got what it needed from the device descriptor. Good that it works now but kinda sucks that I can't reproduce it and determine the root cause.

Question A B450 motherboard that actually works fine with Zen 2?

My B450 TOMAHAWK MAX handled my Ryzen 5 3600 out of the box. I updated the BIOS before installing windows. No apparent issues.

Funny you should mention the voltage tweaks. In that first video the guy mentions that he can leave all the voltage settings (with the exception of DRAM voltage) at Auto. I have that exact same motherboard. For my RAM the calculator recommends SOC Voltage of 1.025 and VDDG/P voltages of 0.9...

Tried different vcores all the way up to 1.7V at 3GHz and windows still won't boot. There's no way I can overvolt it any more than that (going above 1.5V is already pushing it). It's a newer revision too (G0).

Where's my bottleneck?

It's a newer G0 Revision (CPUID calls it Stepping B, Revision G0). Even with the Vcore cranked up to 1.7 windows still won't boot. I can't believe this thing can't go up to 3GHz. The best I can do right now is 2.6GHz

FSB 1333 is a 333MHz core clock so 3.0GHz (9x multiplier). Over volted the RAM to 2.0 (1.8 spec). Timing was dialed in at 5-5-5-15

Yeah those sticks I linked are 2GB stick. It's a 4GB kit (so a pair of 2GB sticks). I just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any compatibility issues. I don't really expect any, but I am paranoid.

I'm looking at it this way. The motion blur on my H-IPS panel is driving me nuts. Would the Hanns.G TN panel have any less motion blur, or should I go for the 120hz samsung 2233rz?

4 DIMMS, all Kingston ValueRam 1GB sticks. No heat spreader. According to the specs I found on the Kingston site, they are rated for 1.8v +/- .1v. You still think 2v won't fry them?

Gave it a shot last night. Set my QDR FSB to 1333 which, in Linked mode, set my Memory DDR to 666.7. Set vcore to 1.3v and left the others auto. It crashes as soon as it starts to boot windows. Of course now I don't know if this is due to the RAM or the CPU, but I would venture to guess...

Yeah I was actually going thru that guide which prompted the question. He warns not to set the RAMs speed faster than it is rated. According to that, DDR2-533 can work on an FSB up to 533/2=266MHz which is the stock speed. What would my dividers have to be? EDIT: from reading other sources...
