Can someone point me to a guide on using IIS 5.0 in Windows 2000? I'd really appreciate it. Also, does IIS allow me to enter nameserver addresses so that someone who types in my domain name will automatically get to my webserver? Thanks, mrhair

How to add BeOS to W2k Bootloader

Enable DMA for Plextor 12/10/32A in Win2k

Like I said before, I also have a Creative DVD drive as the slave to my Plextor. Like the Plextor drive, the Creative runs in DMA mode in 98 and Millenium, but not in Windows 2000. Anyone having the same kind of troubles?

That's what I did when I heard I had to uninstall some crap, figured I'd just start out clean. Works great now, cept I can't get it to work in DMA mode in Windows 2000.

Where did you hear about that jumper setting? And are you asking what the POST screens say about the Plextor? If so, if says it's running in mode 4 (PIO) but it has always said that.

The easy, normal methods have been tried and tried a long damn time ago. This is why I said that the drives were in PIO mode. Even registry hacks don't seem to work, so if anyone has any clue how to enable DMA on drives that DO SUPPORT DMA, please give a hand. Thanks.

Make sure that Plug and Play OS is set to 'YES' in the BIOS. That fixed it for me. I have a P3B-F. If that option doesn't exist, try upgrading your BIOS.

WIN 2000 problem ***need help desperately***

Just a little tidbit here: The Windows 2000 Professional CD is bootable, so you don't need to use boot disks if your BIOS is told to boot from a CD before it boots from a hard drive. It's much quicker than making and using Windows 2000 boot disks.

I don't think I have any Xing-using programs on my computer. The only media ones I have are Windows Media Player 7, Windows' own DVD Player and the beta of Creatives PC-DVD player for my DXR3 decoder.

Thanks for all the tips! Just to make something clear, I only had one hard drive on the Promise Ultra66 card. The other hard drive and optical drives were using the onboard ide/33 channels. The drive on the Promise was always at 66 and there is no DMA checkbox for that drive, which is normal...
