American Express sucks dude, why get a card when you can't use it evrwhere? Verify your interest rate, that's where they get ya. They'll raise your credit as you keep spending and paying off your balance. Although they like it when you carry it for a bit.

Nah, that's for the Dragon Plus, I only have the Dragon. The Dragon plus is the one that comes with the card reader, right? I don't have that one.

I have the SOYO K7V Dragon. On its product page it says "Supports AMD Socket-A type Processors (including Duron & Athlon & XP CPUs) up to 1700+ MHz". Does this mean I can only put a maximum of an Athlon XP 1700+, or can I put the latest and greatest XP in, like the 2200? Thanks.

how to uninstall VIA IDE driver crap?

Here's some history.. Awhile ago I installed the latest VIA IDE drivers, and about the same time, my internal ZIP and cdrom drives stopped showing up in My Computer, wouldn't be in Device Manager, even though they showed up in BIOS during boot. I was able to right click on all the stuff in IDE...

seti@home causes skips in sound

I recently reinstalled Win2k after running it for a year. Now when I run Seti@Home in the background (minimized in the tray) and play mp3s, i hear artifacts in the sound like glitches and static and stuff. I didn't used to hear this in my previous installation of Win2k. Anybody had this problem...

400 or 300 watt power supply with an Athlon 1.4ghz?

bad powersupply?

So what are the telltale signs of a bad powersupply? My system recently decides to lock up in the middle of anything (it's an athlon system, very power concious), the video on the monitor will waver and get smaller, and then just stays there, system locked up hard core. and then it won't boot...

Which would YOU choose? A CDRW drive SCSI or EIDE?

I have the IDE Plextor 12/10/32A and it's great, but I did notice my system (900mhz t-bird) slow down when burning at the full 12x. But after I upgraded from 128mb ram to 384, I haven't had a problem.

I had a 128meg SDRAM DIMM from mushkin and recently added a 256meg SDRAM DIMM from crucial. Now, adding those numbers up, I should have 384 megs of memory. But Win2k and my BIOS both say I have 392,688KB (~392megs). Why is this?

What is the worst thing that you have done to a computer that was running?

When i copied CDs, the source cd drive wouldn't eject after the copying was done, until the system was power cycled. Well, so I got tired of having to shut down everytime I was done copying a CD, so I just decided to unplug the cd drive and plug it back in.. while the system was running. Nice...

I found monarch to be cheaper for my chip, and I had another vendor priced out for the board (or maybe it was the other way around), but then I visited lynn computer and they had all 3 (chip, board, fan) that I wanted, and I generally find that ordering all from the same vendor ensures that...
