Actually, they are breakable. I dropped mine and the cap broke off, so I figure it's useless... so I ran over it w/a car. Front wheel didn't do anything, but the 2nd roll w/the rear wheel cracked it down the side!
I saw a link in RossGr's siggy about his proof that 1 = .99 repeating. It was awfully long and I didn't quite follow it all the way through, but it is wrong to just say this:
1/3 = 0.33...
2/3 = 0.66...
Since 1/3 + 2/3 = 1
and 0.33... + 0.66... = 0.99...
then 1 = 0.99...
:-( I tried swapping the RAM (512mb of Crucial PC 2700), and flashed the BIOS too. I'll try messing w/the physical HD and cables later today. Thanks so far for all of your help guys. I've been thinking, my computer used to run fine under Win2k but that was a long time ago. Maybe I'll format...
Here's a popup window that just appeared on my screen:
IEXPLORE.EXE - Application Error
The instruction at "0x77f517e2" referenced memory at "0x78004b2e". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
I updated every driver and security update, scandisk, defrag, ran 2 registry checkers and the problem still persists. Maybe this is an excuse for me to try upgrading some of my hardware :-)
There's no BSOD or restarting. I noticed it just happens when I access my D: (second HD) in My Computer. When that happens, a popup window comes up saying "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry...." Then it gives me an option of sending an error report...
Well, my problems keep persisting. I did a clean format of my HD, reinstalled WinXP, and 2 minutes later (and every 2 minutes) my explorer.exe keeps crashing and windows asks if I want to send in an error report, bleh bleh.. Here is the error signature:
AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2600.0...
I formatted and have all the latest drivers, cleaned out my registry and everything in the OS is clean. The problem still persists. All my fans are running and I normally keep my case open. Maybe I'll try borrowing another power supply to try that.
I've recently had a problem with my computer freezing up a lot. It seems to happen mostly when I'm playing video on the computer -- I can never play more than 5 minutes of video w/o my comp freezing up. I installed a fresh copy of WinXP and it still does the same thing. I've swapped out my...
Hey all, I remember modifying a Promise Ultra66 by jumping 2 pins w/a 100 ohm resistor a while back to make it into a RAID card. Is it also possible to do this on the new Maxtor ATA/100 PCI adapter cards? If so, can someone tell me which 2 pins to jump and w/what type of resistor? Or better yet...

Don't put your real phone # down for this one if you don't want a call, cuz i got my t-shirt last week and some guy called and asked me about my "200 gig server" and "when is the next time u plan a backup project" but i just told him i only wanted a free tshirt :)
AGP = accelerated graphics port. Most PII and practically all PIII (or athlon) motherboards have an AGP slot built in, however, some cheapo motherboards have an AGP video card already built in, so u can't use the agp slot since the built in video card is already soldered in.
Crap! I signed up at BP, then signed up at onlineofficesupplies, and placed my order, but after spending so much time looking for what i wanted, i forgot to enter the coupon code. But when i clicked back, i saw this msg "A $10.00 off coupon to purchase office products at...
Oh, sorry. I didn't get the joke (i'm pathetic). I thought it was just a useless post referring to Juvenile's song. Again, i apologize.. the only reason i posted it was cuz I was wondering why a senior member was posting useless stuff.. but now i get the joke :)
why is everyone telling us that they didn't get their coupon? do we care? if 1 or 2 people said that this was a hoax deal, then that's enough.. u don't have to keep posting useless posts to try to get that "senior member" status u all crave for.
doh.. sorry for all the posts, but it says <br><center>"OOOPS!
