yeah you're right :D even if the perf-boost wont be that great, lower power consumption and the fun with oc'ing a new cpu will be worth it ;)

yeah thought that too but that wont happen anytime soon...at least not until AMD will be more competitive...i think Intel will just...

buy a 3ghz qc for gta4, your gtx260 is more than you need. For other games, well you would notice a difference if you go for 4-8x aa otherwise 1680 is too low...
try to wait a littl bit more til 4890 and gtx 275 come out(1-2weeks)...prices will surely drop!

I've got the oppurtunity to upgrade from my oced pentium e2160@3.2ghz to a E5200 for 25$. Does it make sense? I heard/read...
I've got a normal Gainward 8800GT.
I changed the vcore from 1.05v to 1.1v via Nibitor.
Everything went well and I could oc a bit more(to 729/1782)
I ran the usual test: 2h furmark xtreme burnin, 1h loop 3dmark vantage@high.
Everything was just fine. I played and there were no issues...
