how are floating point numbers stored in a PC and why is it impossible to store .1 as .1 and not some slightly different number. Also what would be stored if .1 can be?

A used car with an "As Is" on the sticker.. would/should you/I buy it?

The reason dealers use "As Is" because stupid people would run the car off the road and then sue the guy because he didn't repair it for free. if you do drive the car for 180 miles and nothing seems wroung then it is most likely fine and won't break in 30 day warrent anyways

lose your barcode for a rebate, then it's hot

Yea I could have used this when I sent in my rebate and everything but one Bar coded got there. I went around in circles with a guy who kept telling me to RESUBMIT the original bar code lol.

How does an add-on IDE controller card work?

Not all add-on IDE controllers go over the PCI bus. My neibhor has on the ISA bus and it only has a primary channel.

Is this really true about Compaq's Bios?

Micheal have you ever seen the tech support guy that come and replace the parts when they breack under warrenty? If the CPU is blown on a normal motherboard in a socket then I would guess there is about a 50% chance that the tech would blow the motherboard and or the CPU.

Rounded cables vs. very neatly bundled cables = no difference? My opinion

Neat case you should see mine I round all the cables together in the shape of a soft ball. I don't think it will make much of a differnce even if you ball your cables.

If M$ was not a monopoly I could go to a main stream store and buy a main stream x86 PC without there crap software installed and paid for. Sure I could buy 2 OS but that would be a waste and I would still have paid for windows. The comepting OS can't even gain market share when they give away...
