thats odd corkyg...every xp machine i have tried it on, it worked that same way
my notepad is using Lucida Console 20 pt. currently...i rarely use notepad and can't even remember why its set this way, lol

maybe you can try to update the drivers for the usb card if you don't have the latest ones already
type "bush hid the facts" in notepad (no quotes) and save it...when you close it and open it back up it displays random characters

WOW...thats a great looking board. Thats one thing DFI does really well (amongst others...of course) is the visual aspect of their boards, they always look good IMO.
divx is a video codec...try what robisbell suggested again but right before you reboot, uninstall the sound card from device manager so the computer will detect new hardware upon the reboot
try reinstalling the device drivers now and cancel anything that xp trys to install that would be generic
im not sure exactly how the 16x is divided up...my idea on it is if the chipset sees one card, it get 16x, if it sees two cards it divides the bandwidth, crossfired or not...i could be completely wrong, but i think you may only get 8x a card
if someone knows for sure, please correct me

I am getting one day max out of my battery, sometimes not even that. Granted I generally text about all day and talk a good bit. This said, I could do this same thing with my old samsung phone and it would last 2 to 3 days depending on the usage load. Anyone know something to help this...
i really can see where this would be a huge benefit...if anything they could put it on a jumper to be switched between the onboard chip and ram banks as previously stated by tcsenter.

i have one of the newer g15's and personally love it. i really like the one row of macro keys, i don't really use them and it makes the keyboard less wide. i would recommend it.

I have Windows XP Pro and suddenly my task manager isn't displaying correctly. Only the app screen is present and there are no tabs at the top. I can still select an application and end task oddly enough. The only way to exit out of it is to click the right click the icon on the taskbar next...

Try this if you haven't already. Take out the battery and boot up on ac power alone. Shut back down and put the battery back in. Sometimes this will fix the laptop not powering on with the battery. Best of luck, hopefully you won't need a new battery...

I would also try finding another driver version, the one you have may be having some issues. Check your cable as well to make sure its seating all the way in, if its not and your components are vibrating your case upon reboot it is kicking the cable out a bit.
LOL, good to know only if the 450 watt I have was good quality. It's a Raidmax that was in a case a friend gave me. I am going to buy a new psu to use, I don't want to be close to minimum required, especially with this brand. Thanks for all the input guys.
