I don't have any experience using DVD maker. Do you feed it an avi file and it creates a video_ts folder to burn to DVD?
If so, it should be using mpeg2 compression which sounds like a long time for that CPU. (AVI is irrelivant to time since it is only the file container).

His post could have been just as dumb if he said
"Anyone who drives their car faster than the posted speed limit is stupid. All they are doing is putting additional wear and tear on their engine & car"
