DNet PProxy log files... what good are they??

I keep the entire history of all the logs. This currently uses about 1.5GB per month. But, the original files get zipped up at least once a week (they compress about 10:1), and every once in a while, I write a CD full of zipped files. One reason to keep a month or so of history would be if...

The way the d.net id at teamanandtech.com works is as follows. When you add your d.net id to your teamanandtech.com profile, you are not joining Team AnandTech in the d.net projects. You are only providing teamanandtech.com with the ability to link from your profile to your distributed.net...

pproxy/website maintenance

I am going to be doing a bunch of maintenance on core and edge (the pproxy and the webserver) therefore over the next several hours, availability will be up and down. I am going to start a pproxy on another machine here which will inherit the same IP as core, so all blocks will be processed...

The question is more of what field type to use to store comments in the db. By setting an upper limit to the number of characters, the db can store and retrieve the data much more efficiently, and there is the ability to do searches on that field. The only downside is that there is a limit to...

Team AnandTech Stats blank???

Sorry guys, a power failure in the building caused the webserver to reset. And here I thought I had both server plugged in a UPS. The webserver rebooted, but does not log itself in. If it is not logged in, ppstats does not have access to the log files on core. Everything should be back to...

One more update of the page. We were down to under 60,000 blocks from yesterday submitted from the 8011 and 8012 clients. How long should I continue doing these updates? Mika

Just a note that the page has been updated with the latest data. Yesterday there was still 70,000 RC5 blocks submitted through the team pproxy with version 8011 or 8012.

Wow, Orange Kid's SETIQ server already has 309 WU results queued

I would certainly be willing to host a SetiQ server on the Team server. However, I would like if Orange Kid were able to admin it. OK already has the experience with the SetiQ and is more in tune with Seti in general. I like Sukhoi's suggestion of using a round-robin of Seti proxies similar...

I've updated this page to show blocks submitted after March 1 using client versions 8011 and 8012. There is now also a column for the date the last block was submitted using the buggy client. There are still many people using 8012. Please check your clients! Mika

I will compile a list of all the email addresses who submitted blocks yesterday using 8011 and 8012 clients (including how many blocks were submitted. This should help people who are not sure if they have all their clients downgraded. Mika

As best as we can tell, for some reason, core (the mail pproxy) started flushing blocks to edge, which in turn flushed them back to core, which in . . . well you get the idea. We are not sure what caused the problem at this point, but will hopeully come up with some sort of answer :confused...

The other thing I can do is retire your email address into a "false" email address eg. yourname@home.ca All that this does is change the name that is displayed in the stats on the Team AnandTech site, it does not change the email address of the blocks as they are sent to d.net. If...

Ah, I think I know why there are blocks coming from teamanandtech.com (webserver). I recently changed mika.dhs.org to point to 204.209.128.158 (the webserver) rather than 204.209.128.157 (the pproxy). I installed a pproxy on the webserver so that users who couldn't update their keyserver...
