Samsung 840 Pro or 840? 256 or 512?

Would use it for OS too, if that would give a speed increase over the M4. Or might there there a larger speed benefit by having OS+programs and games on different SSDs? If durability is as you describe, I surely would have nothing to worry about in that regard :)

4870 crossfire now.. or wait for x2?

Same thing for me :) P182 too. Hopefully getting the PC tomorrow, decided to go for a single 4870 now, always possible to get another later, or maybe simply get 1 new card which is better than two old later, who knows.

Interesting. Although, to be fair, they don't test the crossfire in very high resolution. More tests are really still needed. Also, they test H4850, not HD4870. Some of the text below the graphs basically says: - P35 wouldnt even run Company of Heroes in crossfire. - The Asus P5Q Deluxe...

Ordered P45 now, hope it turns out that P45 isnt bottlenecked, if not, guess Ill have to wait for next gen to get more power than a single 4870 :) Way too many unanswered questions about the Tweaktown article though, I wouldnt take it for the truth just yet, its a shame no other sites have...

Oh, maybe I have misunderstood it then. The affected PCI-E slot is not the second x16 slot (used for crossfire), but the x4? Guess it wont matter then, placed my order already anyway :)

Not sure if you can get the info without having something in the slot. But shouldnt CPU-Z be able to tell you if you placed your GPU in the lower 16x slot? Damn, I'm 5 min away from placing my order. And I want both this MB and a Xonar, would surely like to know if one of the PCI-E slots got...

Are Gainward and Club3d decent brands for 4870? Hardware wise they are the same of course, but thinking service, warranty, if people have good or bad experiences with them.

Would still be nice with more reviews on the issue. If HD4850 is already pushing the x8 limit, what about HD4870X2 then? Etc. Right now we only have a few tests like tweaktowns, where plenty of other reasons could explain the performance difference they saw.

No off switch is quite weird indeed, but then again, I rarely remember using the PSU off switch (turning PC+monitor etc. off at the wall outlet anyway). Still I agree, its a sign of lazy design not to have it, which is obviously not good. I dont know if I need it that quiet, probably not :)...
