Is this a mobo, hd, mem or software problem?

Okay, it gets more strange... So unplug everything and place the box on my desk, open it and clear out the dust. Plug in ac, monitor, and keyboard. It fires right up! Put it back, plug everything in and try fire it up. Same problem, it stalls for several minutes aftert bios lists...

Is this a mobo, hd, mem or software problem?

I've cloned the HD and am also doing constant data back-ups, just in case. A strange thing is that once XP does load, everything seems fine. Why would a HD problem cause a delay in the boot sequence box appearing? I would think that points to a mobo or bios problem, but I'm ceratinly not...

LCD Tilt function mystery

I just got a Dell 1901fp with the tilting screen Sadly I'm still using a 3dfx Vodoo5 AGP vidcard. Needless to say that card does not support tilting screens. Are there any other solutions to get the tilt feature to work? Thanks!

Of course it you'r really concerned about shelf life, grab some Lithium AA's. Good for 10 years at least. About $4 each. My guess is that as a pocket light the shelf life won't be an issue, so either a rechargeable or alkaline wil be best, depending upon usage habits.

CR-ROM ist kaput!

I'm running xppro and am having a slight problem. I can't read any files on my cd-rom drive, a Samsung 48x. Whenever I go to check the files on explorer a box pops up telling me to insert a cd, even if there is already one in there. It's worked before and I don't recalll changing anything...

cdub: I'm sure you have your reasons, but I can't see why anyone wouldn't have a MC or a Visa card. There are plenty of places that only accept those two. And there are plenty of banks that offer them with no annual fee.

What's up with my friggn' CDROM??!!??

Problem solved! Jumpers were okay, but the cable wasn't. I had the master cd-rw on the middle connector of the ide cable. This worked fine with the other cd recorder, but not with the new one. After I swapped the connectors with the cd-rom now on the center plug everything works fine now...
