Question on DSL network usin a Linksys router with 4 port switch;1 computer cant see the other from network neighborhood

Be sure they are in the same workgroup. Also try to find the computer (Start, Find, Computer)sometimes that will show other PC's on the local network when the browse list isn't.

You will need about 384Kbps to achieve 40K sec. So if I read your post correctly a 128Kbps line isn't enough.

How do I keep 1 computer on a lan from steeling the others bandwidth?

It depends, if the site can only feed 80K/sec then that will be all that the client PC will get, the other PC's will get the rest. I believe MS Proxy Server 2.0 allows throttling of bandwidth. FTP server's can also limit bandwidth. I haven't seen a router that will limit bandwidth but, I'm...

Plextor 12x10x32A @ Amazon.com for $190 Shipped!!!! HOT HOT HOT!!!!

I almost bought this drive but I was surprised it only had 2 megs of ram. Instead I went for the Yahmaha 8x8x24 SCSI drive which has 4 megs of Ram. Of course I'm sure most of you are buying the Plextor for the burnproof. I still can't see giving up real memory for the burnproof name.

You can buy the stuff at pretty much any welding supply shop. I bought some and put it in a stainless steel thermos, which was an approved container. About $9. I'm sure your aware but consider this stuff molten lava.
