Well, not really on topic but near enough...According to S/As NV Roadmap we might be waiting way longer for such an Event than most hoped, or in case of FUDspreading not. Well i can see the "price-war" going down the drain...

4890 Review Thread

Hmm, it was ht4u who first realized a rather strange behaviour by the regulators... here they compare temperature behaviour under load between gpu and voltage regulator resulting in the regulators temps always rising faster then the gpu´s indicating the cooling solutions weren´t up 2 the job...

4890 Review Thread

As I recall, the mainproblem of the reference 4870s was not keeping the gpu temperature down, but keeping the Synchronus Buck Voltage Regulator by Vitec cool since it often radiatet more heat then the gpu itself... i wonder if they somehow avoided that problem with the new reference coolers or...

My bet would be the higher Memory...it´s 1Gb for each gpu well compared 2x 4870 cf setup

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 QUAD in an Antec P182?

Refering to the charts here, it should use no more then 421 lets say 450w, gues it comes down to the ampere question... and there should be the question why the hack amd didn´t certify anything under 750w for a xfire setup...it says 600w under min requirements though...

Well then, i ´d love to keep the fan, as the partet and well cooled hdds are the main aspect in sticking to the p182. On the other side i´m looking into Enermax Mod82+ 625W, but despite featuring 50a, i´m pretty worried it might be 2 small to supply a 4870 crossfire setup...any ideas on that...

Buying a e2160 n waiting for Q9x50 prices 2 drop?

I wonder if u guys think buying a e2160 and overclocking it would be a smart decision. Since you could get a 2160 (tray)for about 47? or 75$ including shippment it might be clever 2 wait for let´s say q9550 or q9450 prices to drop 2 an affordable level. I pretty much aim for the actual prices...
