According to what I can find, there is no way to set the voltage in the BIOS. The ran takes 2.5V I can set:
CAS Latency (currently at 2.5)
RAS to CAS Delay (currently at 3, can set to 2)
RAS Precharge Time (set to 3, can set to 2)
Active Precharge Delay (set to 6, can set to 5)
1T Command...
The memory is newly purchased, all 3 sticks are the same brand and model, all purchased at the same time.
Right now bios is set to auto detect. Its a possibility, I have not yet looked into it.
Duel channel? on DDR? (not DDR2 or 3, regular DDR)
Right now the problems are just with...
Test #5
Its one or two errors per pass. Not every pass
The errors only occur when i have more than one stick in the mobo. i've tried having just a single stick in each of the three slots (so 3 tests) and no errors occur. any combination of 2 or 3 sticks generates errors
Overview of the problem
I'm trying to install some ram into an older machine before I give it to my mom
Full description of the problem and symptoms
I bought 3 sticks of 1gb DDR ram to install into an old machine. The system passes several hours of memtest with only one stick of ram in...
Many large companies (off the top of my head, IBM) mandate bios passwords on their drives as part of common security practice, so while the home consumer would not likely be affected, the big companies (the ones that spend billions and are the real customers) will be furious
Anyone seen a...
Dell uses custom power supplies and mobos. If you want to replace one, you need to replace the other (unless I read what you are doing for your mom wrong)
its the inquirer, they cite themselves something like 3 times in that article. I wouldn't trust this story until some more reliable source comes along with a similar article
have you borrowed a friend's powered hub and that solves the problem? Do you have the correct drivers installed?
i find it unlikely that the USB ports on your mobo are underpowered (according to the USB spec) or that other devices can negatively affect the port you are attempting to use...
Not likely. USB hubs are dumb devices and controlled by the computer. The power adapter is enough to charge them, but without the computer the hub keeps the power off as part of the USB standard. Attempting to bypass this is likely to damage the devices.
found this in thermaltake's fourms
Tried the PSU in several older computers at work today and none of them would start but their psus worked in my computer when it was striped down.
Actually found out that my PSU is infact too new.
I was browsing through the manual of my motherboard and noticed a listing of the pins that make up the ATX 20-pin connector. I compared that to the same diagram in the PSU's manual, and found that two pins differed. One pin was suposed to be...
I noticed one of the capacitors on the old PSU was starting to bulge and "leak" when I was cleaning the case. I figured a replacement PSU was needed before it actually blew
My system is:
AMD XP 2100+
Asus A7V333 Mobo
1gb ddr ram
nvidia 6800 GT
250gb Seagate hd
40gb maxtor hd
dvd-rom drive
cd-rw drive
About 3 months ago my old psu died. In anticipation for the upgrade I plan on doing in November i bought a Thermaltake Toughpower 700W: described here...
