case for carpet/with wheels

hey guys! i'm thinking about upgrading to a new case and giving my antec 1200 to my friend who's figuring out a build for a desktop at the moment. i currently have this huge thing weighing down the carpet, and i dont think my mom's gonna be too happy when she see's 4 craters in the carpet :P...

i did not overvolt or overclock. an OCN user told me that it's nothing to be worried about as it is just discoloring. the chip was working fine before i pulled it out. i could be overreacting. i'm gonna go with his word though.

something wrong with my cpu???

so i am getting ready to part out my system. i take out my cpu and start cleaning the thermal paste off the chip, when i notice a bit of darkness on my cpu. cpu has been on stock clocks since the beginning of use. picture: it's that little area at the top corner. is there something wrong...

computer won't boot up anymore (weird)

i dont have other spare parts to test with. i never expected this to happen when my computer has been running flawlessly for the past year or so.

ok so my computer decides to not boot up anymore. i dont know why. i shut down my pc after checking my email and the weather reports before going out. when i come back, i press my power button and go take a shower. when i come back, the pc is basically hanging like it would from a bad OC...

eVGA 141-BL-E757 intel x58 SLI LE was it worth the buy?

you should have researched more (preferable on EVGA forums) before you have bought. just my advice. from what i've read, it's not a bad board. it's like the 'basic' of the evga models.

Which motherboard for my i7?

EVGA has great service and lifetime warranty. i've delt with ASUS and their service is okay. not great, but not bad. if you're not gonna use SLI, i'd recommend the gigabyte x58-ud3r, the asrock deluxe (or was it supercomputer??? it was reviewed here on anandtech), asus p6t (not deluxe or se)...

Gigabyte ex58 extreme crashes during post

good to know about this problem since i was eying gigabyte x58 boards. but truthfully, 12GB is overkill. 6 is plenty.

Thinking about going SLI

750i's arent bad. i see some EVGA 780i (some are FTW) for like $100 shipped. some might be floating around here. try to see if you can get a hold of one of those.

King of Fighters 12

if you're a fan of 2D fighting games (KOF, SF, Guilty Gear to name a few of ooooo so many), then it's a must have. but the old KOFs are better. Get Blazblue. Made by the makers of Guilty Gear and got excellent reviews.

yellow line on monitor

i think either or is fine. i've seen some rigs run SLi with like 500w psus because it really comes down to efficiency. 850 should be fine. it all comes down to your wallet.

Q9450 + TRUE

is the heatsink installed properly/tightly? do you have decent airflow? i had my TRUE in my old case and my temps were about 55C. i switched to a full tower case (antec 1200), managed my wiring better, and my temps are 33-35C @ 3.6 on my q6600.

17" Cheap gaming Laptop

i have a gateway 17 inch gaming laptop but apparently they discontinued it with another model. it's a great machine, but something happened to it recently where my screen would be distorted when viewing dark colors. was thinking about selling it as-is cause i'm very sure the problem can be fixed.

Gaming Mice/Keyboards: Are They Worth It?

in my opinion, the mouse is the most important peripheral. i got the illuminated logitech keyboard for free (hook ups!!!) and it is just fine for gaming. those keyboards just have extra buttons for macros/micros (whatever they are). a good (but not crazily overpriced) mousepad is also good too.

antec 1200 or gigabyte 3d aurora?

antec 1200 vs gigabyte 3d aurora which case should i get? the pricing is almost the same (there is a store selling the 1200 at 169.99 in my area), yet the 1200 has more fans, but the aurora is very visually appealing.
