Catalyst Control Center won't launch

The XP I have is an oem from my old Dell, I just reinstalled it and it worked. Could that have anything to do with the fact that .net 2.0 won't install? I was told that it could by someone on another forum. I'll try the Driver Sweeper thing and get back to you on it. Thanks again

I removed all of my drivers and reinstalled the driver, and still nothing. And as far .net framework goes, I believe I have 2.0 installed. But I have no idea whether it's running or not, do I have to have it checked off in msconfig or something. The reason I don't know this is because when I...

Oh ok, that's what I wasn't understanding. Looking back at the part of the chart you quoted, it seems that the bottleneck I'll experience is maybe 10-20 frames less than I would with a faster cpu. Does that seem right from what I'm seeing?

That helps a lot. So as far as bottlenecking goes, how much of a performance decrease are we talking? 10 fps, 20 fps? What? That's the only thing I'm not really clear on. I know it depends on the game, but I'm just asking on average across all games...a guesstimate if you will.

Gonad, if I don't overclock, how much (if any) of a performance decrease would I experience from the bottleneck? I'm asking you individually because I'd like each person's point of view on that one question, which is my main question in this topic. I'm trying to get a consensus on the issue.

I'm running at 1680x1050, if that changes anything. AS far as games go, I play Crysis and pretty much any other modern game, except for MMOs. The only reason I'm not overclocking is because I've never done it, and am a bit leery about it. It looks confusing to me, but I might give it a shot...
