Any reason for 7870 over 7850?

I'm a light gamer (rpg types, few fps) with i5 2500k, win 7, and 1900x1200. From reviews, it seems 7850 is all I really need at x1200. Now if I had higher res, I would consider 7870, but just hard to justify for the extra $90 bucks. Any thoughts? Plan to pull trigger soon. thx,

Which model 7850 to consider?

I have i5 2500k; 1920x1200 resolution. RPG and Strat games like Dragon Age and Witcher and Starcraft 2. Thinking 7850 (unless I hold out for 670/660), but interested in which brand/model to get? Top 2 contenders seem to be the Sapphire OC 7860 or MSI Twin Frozer. Might to mild OC in...

Radeon HD 7800 series manufacturer announcements

Any opinions on MSI Twin Frozr vs Sapphire for the 7850? My take is MSI might have better cooling but at expense of being a bit louder? Appreciate any advice as I think I'll be picking from these two soon.

To me, no brainer for 7850 due to getting nearly same performance but most modern GPU and lower thermals.

With $550 budget, it's easy. 7950/7970, or wait and see what Nvidia brings with 680 announcement tomorrow. If you want to save money, consider 7850/7870 @ 1080p.

Any reason to upgrade my 9800GT?

I've got 2500k/8GB ram / SSD also, and a 8800 GTS 320MB from 2007! Been waiting to upgrade video card for about a year now, not sure what I will do. Targeting 6870 or 6950 or 7850 or 660, but the deals on these seem limited. Not a big gamer, still working through old titles also. But will do...

Thinking about upgrading from 8800GT, have 2600k

I'm in similar boat. Just built a new i5-2500k rig, but using 8800 GTS 320MB. Haven't gamed in a while, so still playing on some old games (Oblivion now, Dragon Age Origins next, Starcraft 2 third, Crysis fourth, then maybe Dragon Age II). Close to getting something now...but with 28-nm coming...

intel 320 priced out on the egg

fingers crossed that this works: http://www.vilepickle.com/blog/2011/03/14/00103-fixing-crucial-realssd-c300-stuttering C300 128GB for $199 is too hard to resist...especially when Intel 510 haven't proven their greater reliability yet (NewEgg reviews aren't great so far)

I doubt it...look at Intel 320 release for recent evidence. All articles I read don't indicate any price drops until years out (think Anandtech C400 review mentions it).

What do you think of the AsRock Extreme 4 P67 board ?

About to match almost exactly your build during April...only doing new CM690II Adv case, plus my old 8800 GTS is 320MB version :) Was waiting for C400 to come out, but if C300 is cheaper, I'll just get that.

Problem with adding SATA drive to existing Raid 1 in winxp

Can anyone help? I have a raid 1 using two 320 GB SATA drives, with WinXP Pro. (shows as C:/) I just bought a new 640 GB SATA drive that I wanted to add as a separate drive (eg, d:/), not part of existing RAID. Disk management in winxp sees the drive (after NVidia software initializes...
