I have disable Prefecth, superfetch, Search etc on Windows 7 as I have several SSDs. I have notice in performance monitor, a file 'c: \Windows\Prefetch\Readyboot.etl (not Readyboost) Thrash my drive for a good 15 minutes or so.

I believe most read and write from memory are random and small (just look at the performance monitor). So the X25-v with it high Random R/W will shine - like any decent SSD really.
Use Windows 7 Disk Management from the control panel. IF you delete the partition from the SSD then create a new one, it will be aligned to 1024K.
