Via kt133 on my main rig and the old reliable 440bx on my celly backup rig... man that bx just won't die :)
I had an AMD Irongate for about three weeks, most worthless pos I have ever owned!
I played Blood2 and Quake III at CompUSA on a Sony LCD and it was awful! If you can imagine that annoying look of your mouse cursor on your laptop - but the whole screen.
Hmm nothing really wrong with the Voodoo 5 if you can find one, their not the fastest but they work with everything - 3dfx has always had good compatibility.
I would personally get a good Nic, my number one choice is 3COM followed by Linksys.
I picked up Quake III from my buddy for 10 bucks about three months ago, never really played it but I decided to do some benching today.

Hmmm I know from working with the video out on my Viper II that you have to have all the video cables plugged in before powering on the system becuase the signal is detected at boot up, the TV/projector also had to already be on - otherwise the video out options were greyed out in control...
They can't keep up I bet, I have personally bought a crap load of stuff from them in the last two months (ie mobos, cpus, memory, hd's, etc).
Best online store ever in my opinion.
Bah, I could care less. I doubt Carmack gives this foolish stint a second thought. The judge already dismissed the case, they are appealing however I doubt anything will happen.
I know you can do it on a Mac cus' I used to rip movies from the school media center all the time in middle school. It was done with video capture/record software and the RCA cable going from the VCR to video in on video card and audio in on a speacial mac sound card.
<<<I wonder what the long term effects of that are>>>
Women, fame, money, power, national respect/renown, etc.
Damn! I'd love to show that little ah heck who's the man at Super Mario!
<<<Or piss on the floor beside the toliet.>>>
LOL I hear ya brother! And who looks/walks back there anyway? What does it matter if I drib a little on the floor!?
Computer Show, Local Computer shop, etc. Place called Cheap Guy's where I live has em' for 5 bucks in the box. If you try to find one for 5 bucks at say CompUSA - well your not that bright.
Best thing to do it turn the PC OFF. If the drive is dead new ones cost $5 bucks so you don't have to worry about not being able to boot from A. Take the drive out of the case, pop the plastic cover off - you will now be able to pull the disk out with your fingers.
Better safe than sorry. It's...
My Tbird 800 Mhz did 900 Mhz at 112.5 Mhz FSB with default voltage and cooling. I am sure it could go higher but I am like you and don't wanna push it to the max. My GeForce DDR easily did 350 Mhz Memory and 135 Core. After placing heat sincs on the memory moduels I got the memory to 390 Mhz.
All the cheap generic stuff on pricewatch will work in "some systems" most of the vendors fail to tell you that is is very high density ram (32x64) and will only work in AMD IronGate and Via kt133, 133a and kx133 chipsets. It also will not work with any other brand of ram at the same...
<<<I put together a Tbird 850 on an Epox 8KTA3 motherboard, with a new Maxtor 30gig 7200rpm>>>
I just put together this exact same system but on a 8kta+ board and I also have a friggin ton of lockups in win98, but in windows 2000 it's rock solid, never crashes - never!
Ok heres the deal, I just bought a Kt133 Mobo with a Thunderbird 850 Mhz. I also upgraded my ram to 256 Meg and my Video card to a 32 Meg GeForce DDR.
My problem is my performance is horrible!
In 3DMark I only score like 700 while my friends are getting over a thousand with similar systems. In...
I bought an OEM Creative Labs Annihilator Pro and it came clocked at 115/286 so I clocked it up to the default running speed of of 120/300. It's rock stable, everything runs great however I get artifacts in games like Half Life and Quake III.
Whats up? The OEM has the exact same heat sinc as...
