soft mod radeon 9700-->9800pro

I read somewhere that the 3.3 cats will give the 9700s a performance boost but not the 3.2s. It was a quote from ATI.. can't remember where I read it though :)

I agree.. guess it's time to buy my new system. I'm thinking: XP 2400+ oc to around 2.25ghz 1GB Kingston HyperX 3000 RAM FIC Radeon 9700 PRO 120GB Maxtor I've been holding out for a while due to memory and video card prices. I honestly don't think the R350 is going to knock down the R300...

Anyone know when the R350 is due out???

I heard it's supposed to be officially announced at CeBit(?) on March 12. Rumors are that it's already in mass production. It sure would be nice to have them available massively mid-March. I probably won't be dropping $399 on a new card, but I'd sure drop $250 on a 9700 pro if the release...

I would read this article If you can find out how many amps are supplied for the +3.3v, +5v, and +12v rails on this 200w ps and compare it to your components' requirements, then it's possible it might be enough. Who knows.
