Btw xtknight, I'd picked up a 22' LG previously(2-3 months ago), forgot to mention it.. Its pretty decent.. LG W2242T, Matte-Screen, with LG's 0 Dead-pixel policy, and a 5yr warranty, I just couldn't pass on it! It cost around the INR equivalent of US$260.. And its a great gaming monitor.. :)...

Thanks xtknight!, I'll probably pick it up on Monday, then!.. :) .. But, BenQ's dead pixel policy in India sucks, 10 dead pixels for a 22' to qualify for a replacement!!.. :( AFAIK, LG and ViewSonic have a Zero Dead-Pixel over here.. :)

Yup, as DigitalVersus had said, they didn't notice any negative effects and reverse ghosting(pinkish hue in 226BW) and in your case the wierd color uniformity thing.. But, it seems your monitor has negative effects due to RTA. So, that's the culprit, good thing you remedied it! (By Switching RTA...

Welcome here Tracyrick :) , congrats on your purchase. Its a great monitor, and use the native (default) resolution since LCDs have a tendency to spoil picture integrity(quality) while upscaling/downscaling, but recent LCDs such as yours might be good at it. But using it at the native resolution...

@ Pugnate: From what I know RTA refers to Response Time Acceleration, some sort of Response Time Compensation(RTC)/Overdrive tech and as always it does harm than doing good, RTA mostly leads to problems due to improper application in some models, it was one of the well-known issues with 226BW...

Guys, i'm looking for a new 22' or 21.5' monitor (16:9) @ around $250 , I'm gonna use it for Gaming (PC and Consoles), Movies(HD and SD), Normal Photoshop(not a pro!), video editing, etc. I'm hoping that the picture be sharp, good colors, contrast, etc. Since I mostly use it for Gaming, a TN...

Guys, what are your thoughts on the LG L2242T 22-incher, supposedly a cheaper or a low end version of the L2252T.. If you do get any info on this or have had seen or come through this model please post your thoughts on this model.. And If you can do a comparison of this and the ViewSonic...

Woah!! CampinKarl, I'd inquired about this model, i.e., VX2265wm 2 weeks ago with the local ViewSonic Distributor(I didnt even know tht it had 120Hz refresh rate then), It was supposed to launch by the end of this month or Early October..

Well, I'm back from my info search, seems BenQ monitors are available here, even a few NEC ones', any suggestions on 22' Models which I should be looking at, I'll mainly be using the Monitor for a variety of purposes, like Watching TV, HD flicks, Playing the Xbox 360, PC, etc..

Btw, i'm using a LG Flatron CRT now, so equivalent or better performing LCD equivalents would be welcome. Btw, which panels should I be looking at, since TN's have worst viewing angles.. IPS, MVA/PVA, etc? Budget is NOT a constraint, only availability is.. :(.. Pls, give your suggestions...
