Well he's reteried now and just does a little perl development, afaik he uses programmer file editor how much space can he really need?
I'll take a look at the vertex thanks.
Hi I'm looking to buy a 32GB SSD for my Dad for his birthday, he uses his computer for mainly software development.
It would need to work with Linux and WinXP. Can you recommend me one please? Looking to spend around $100ish (intel x25 is out of the question lol)
Thanks in advance.
I just read a review of 2x 4830 in crossfire that looked pretty good, but still had some downsides.

I read a Dev post about Warhammer Online stating that it only uses cores 3 and 4 for character animation and that they recommend a higher clockspeed over more cores. I think if you can overclock i7 heavily it would be good in WAR I bet it would run nice at over 4Ghz.
I had an E4300 before I replaced it. At stock running 1280x1024 my favorite MMO I had to turn all the graphics down to low. With the faster cpu I can play the game on high.

Yeah I used the bios update with a flash drive as I 'd read about people bricking there motherboards with the windows utility. Yeah I may consider some new ram as it is very cheap atm even in the uk. Although it seems my motherboard has a fsb hole up to 400 and the bios is a bit buggy with...
Nice. I'm having trouble overclocking mine at all atm. It seems with the 1803 bios I'm using whenever I set the vcore it sets itself back to auto. I must be doing something wrong. I don't expect there many (any?) using a P5B-E here?
It's fairly sturdy, and very easy access just sliding the tray out and because it is so long theres a huge space between the edge of a regular motherboard and the end of your hard drives and cd drives which i really like.
@ Cheex yeah i left everything on auto 'cept the fsb I set to 400. Still at least I only ran orthos for one hour till I realised lol
@ Concillian you can buy 2 gbs of ram for $25 ? Anyway it seems my 333 ram runs at 400 anyway :)
I can't help you with overclocking but on the large case subject I use an Akasa Eclipse 62 which is pretty huge depth wise.

Yeah the ram was running at 400 i did look at the timings in cpu z but i can't remember them they were like 1 higher each than at 333 i think. Anyway can't i just use a memory divider or something?
I'd rather not replace the ram and mobo as i've just spent all my money on the cpu and heatsink :/
I just installed a new cpu and tried overclocking it, all I did was set the cpu frequency(fsb?) to 400 and it booted up at 4 Ghz. The vcore was on 1.25v I ran orthos for a little over an hour without problems. Is this all I have to do ? Should I try for a higher overclock or just leave it...
If you had a bootable cd of memtest86 to hand I'd try that, not that I think there's anything wrong with the memory but if it ran ok it would suggest that the system components work.
Have you tried booting up from a windows XP cd?
I've found unless I'm doing PvE I have to use the best framerate settings to be able to play smoothly in the P v P battles. This is at 1280 x 1024 too. I guess I need to upgrade something :/
Do you guys get smooth play on high quality during the battles?
