I would keep away from the Intel Application accelerator. I have tried some Busmaster drivers in the past. Absolutely no one had any real advantages over the MS drivers but you are running into trouble very easy with them. I don´t think IAA is any better. I never had any problem with the MS...

Celeron 1.0A O/C

I noticed the Xbitlabs review uses the Abit ST6 mobo... Some have recommended the ASUS TUSL2-C but it has a BIOS problem at 140 mhz FSB and above... thus requiring a special BIOS flash... what bios-problem has the TUSL2-C at 140 MHz? I didn´t find any.

Celeron 1.0A O/C

Bought another Cel 1.0A. Much better than the first one. Runs stable up to 1550 MHz with default voltage and Intel Boxed Fan on a TUSL2-C. Stable Limit is about 1580 MHz @ 1,525V. Starts @ 1600 into Windows but crashes with 3D. Makes no difference if I use one Infineon module 256MB PC133 CL2 or...

Which slotkets fit in an Abit BH6?

I used a MSI and a Abit Slotket III. With the Abit you can use larger coolers. Regarding stability there is no difference. I´m using a Celeron 600 @ 900MHz. No stability problems @ default voltage. If you are no gamer there is no need for PIII, a Cel should do it.

What slocket adapter for P3 and BX6.2 mobo?

I have an old BH-6 board and I´m using an Abit Slotket adapter for my Cel600@900MHz. First I tried a MSI adapter which worked also but a large cpu-cooler didn´t fit as I remember.

Celeron@133MHz ?

Juggybear, what motherboard are you using? If you are running a Intel815 based mobo or any other designed for 133 MHz systemclock there should be no probs with agp. But I think you have a BX based board or anything like this, right?

2D Qualty: Matrox v. ?

I have 2 G200 cards which are good but not excellent with 2D Quality. My very best card is a Diamond V770 TNT2 Ultra, than a G400. But the Diamond is much better than the G400. Maybe there are also production tolerances.

Problem with floppy disk in WIN98

There is a problem with floppy disk in old Pentium I PC. Runs perfectly in DOS but getting bluescreen in WIN 98 as soon as accessed. Any ideas?

Subversal What HD are you using? Maybe there is a problem with the HD. Are you using an ATA66/1oo cable? What are the scores? I´m using an IBM DTLA 307015 75 GXP and an older Quantum Fireball EX and both are performing very well with the 10b14 BIOS in WIN98SE.

I tried other bios versions also but my hard drive scores were the same with all versions, in Windows 98. In DOS I´m getting very poor HD scores from the MSI, I don´t know is this the same with other KT133 boards also?. About 2,5 MB/s with an IBM DTLA 307015. With an Promise Ultra66 everything...

which Pro2A BIOS?

Keep the overclocker BIOS and use the automatic setting by SPD. This is faster than manual setting also the overclocker bios is the fastest bios regarding memory performance.

K7Tpro2A << K7Tpro?

Never had problems with instanility. Usually I`m running 128MB Infineon CL3 in Slot1 but also I never had probs using all 3 memory-slots at same time. This was the Infineon + 2 64MB moduls from Micron and Samsung. Even running my 32MB Micron PC66 @ 100 MHz are no problem.

What's the board to get if switching to AMD (no DDR)

When you look at the picture of MSI upcoming K7T Turbo-R there are eight Mosfets around cpu-socket. Thats promising. Maybe its a four phase solution.

Asus A7V-133

I only found one review here http://www.hardwareluxx.com/ but it´s a german site. Performancewise the A7V-133 was very good but regarding quality they were disappointed. It seems there were different flaws with this board at the moment. But as I like the MSI boards more I would wait for the MSI...

MSI PRO2A - 2 questions - re: cables support 100ATA? Modem?

Yes the included cables support ATA100. If you need a second cable there are only two different cables one for ATA33 and one for ATA66/ATA100. Elsa and US-Robotics are very good modems but I´m living in germany so maybe it´s different.

Retail (stock) HSF for AMD T-Bird: Must you replace it?

As the retail fan is a taisol 733092 it should perform well. If you think the thunderbird get too hot not only the alpha but also the taisol 742092 is a very good choice and also not very loud.

Disappointed with Teac CD-540E CD-ROM drive

I bought the Teac CD-540E for a friend and using WIN 98SE its running great also with DMA enabled on an Asus P3B-F. I let the drive run alone without any firmware update (I don´t know the current firmware version) or speed setting utility. I know with CD´s its a little slower than the fastest...

how do you enable 4 way interleave for an MSI k7tpro 2a?

Get the v1.0B14 bios (new overclocker bios) at the taiwanese MSI site and use setting DRAM timing by SPD. It´s forcing 4way interleave and much faster than any manual setting. Also v1.0B14 is by far the fastest bios.

Bh6 1.0 and FC-PGA celeron 533 or 566

Celeron FCPGA 600 runs perfectly on my BH-6 Rev. 1 @ 900 MHz with default-voltage. So also a Celeron 533 or 566 should work. I´m using the ss bios and Abit slotadapter. Celeron 600 is a cCo stepping. Good luck

Problems with the MSI Pro2A. MSI might recall them back

No problems at all with my MSI Pro2A since I bought it 2 weeks ago. Running any multiplier you want up to 9,5 with my Duron 700. I use the 1.83b bios from the German MSI homepage. Just downloaded the 2.01 bios but not flashed yet. Really great board. 950 Mhz not very stable but its a heat issue...

K7T-Pro [2] New Bios 1.83B

The 1.83B Bios is definitely for Pro2A but as i know also for Pro2. I´m using the 1.83B Bios with my Pro2A and it´s working without any problems with Duron 700 not overclocked yet. Also the 1.83B works faster than the original 1.70.

Which Heatsink for MSI K7T Pro2 ?

Hi I want to replace my current K6/2 350 system with a Duron 700 System. For motherboard I will go with the MSI K7T Pro2 as it seems to me the best one concerning stability/overclocking. Maybe the only problem is boardlayout around the Cpu. I think there is not very much room for big heatsinks...
