Tried to clear the CMOS to see if that would do anything, but no joy.
I've gone ahead and ordered a motherboard from Newegg and if that
does not solve the problem, then that sort of narrows things down a
bit (i.e. it's the CPU) and I'll deal with that when the time comes.
Might be asking for...
Greetings,
Ran into a little problem with my system...if you can call not booting up a "little problem".
I leave my system on most of the time and the other day I went to use it and noticed that
the light on my optical Explorer mouse was out. I moved it around thinking my system had...
Thanks for the link to the Advair site, I'd been meaning to send them a "nastygram"
about the $140 inhaler that my wife got a whole 4 doses out of before it brought on
a panic attack and she was told to stop using it.
I'm not going to ask them for a free toothbrush though...
FWIW, I was in the local BB the Wednesday before BF and watched in
amusement and horror as a couple of employees unloaded a shelf of DVD
players....one was standing on the rack, tossing boxes to another guy on
the floor who would catch the boxes and set them on a stack. I didn't see
him drop...
JETninja: That's a good point about the "burn in". I'm taking it easy on my set before I start
playing around in the service menu to attempt a more thorough calibration of my TV.
I cautioned my wife about playing with the TV too much since I have the brightness...
I bought the 56" version of this TV when CC had it on sale for $1299 before Thanksgiving
and it's a really nice set. I debated on getting a widescreen since everyone seems to be
pushing them, but most of my viewing is just cable TV (4:3). I don't watch DVDs very often,
but when I do, I don't...
My wife has been trying different brands of diapers, trying to
find the "perfect" diaper for our 10-week-old daughter. I would
not let her get Pampers because they cost considerably more
than the others. Now I might let her try them....but then if I
do and she likes them, I'll have to buy...
Roll-around tool chests....
Buy #959786 (7 drawer chest) and #959787 (5 drawer base) for $199.95
and get a free 3-drawer chest (#959883)
Buy #965904 (8 drawer chest) and 965905 (5 drawer base) for 299.95
and get a free 3-drawer chest (#965120).
They also have the 13.2 volt cordless drill...
I bought one of these drills a couple of months ago when it was on
sale for $39.99. I was actually hoping to use the new batteries on my
old Craftsman 13.2V drill that I have had for several years now because
the batteries are no longer charging up, but the new batteries are not...
This is certainly a better deal than the Panasonic 53" wide-screen
they have "marked down" from $1099 to $1803.92. I always
thought the idea of a mark down was to lower the price, not raise
it. If it was $1803.92 marked down to $1099, maybe I'd bite...
I've got a Sear LXI/Magnavox 46"...
Pulled the SBLive Value card out and enabled the C-Media on-board sound
and the "audio crossbar" thingie will still not load and I still do not have any
sound coming through the line-in when I run the video-in application...
Next....
Could still be some sort of conflict between AIW and the SIS...
Er, uhm, I am running at 133MHz (18x133MHz=2.394GHz)...
I've spent the day cutting up a tree that fell on my house (causing $25K in damage),
so this situation has not been priority #1, but when I get a chance later on this
evening, I will pull the sblive and uninstall its drivers in safe mode...
Checked and onboard audio is disabled and was disabled when I first powered
up the system after installing all the new stuff. I will check to see if there is a
jumper on the board as well that can be set to disable onboard audio as well
(a more tangible thing than disabling it in th BIOS)...
I'm trying to get it to work under Win98SE first and if I have no luck, then I
will attempt it with WinXP. I uninstalled all the ATI software, removed all
references to ATI in the Registry, rebooted, and installed all of the latest
drivers and MMC 7.1....but still, I am getting no audio when...
Since I was upgrading my motherboard, CPU, and memory, I did
a clean install of Win98SE and WinXP, so there should not have
been any old drivers lying around to trip things up.
I'm just about to head home from work, so I will check on driver
versions and make sure everything is up-to-date...
I tried updating that particular components driver but the only thing
I succeeded in doing was getting the yellow exclamation mark to
change to a red "X"...which is still not the desired result.
As far as I could tell, I had all of the latest drivers downloaded for
both Win98SE and...
Greetings,
I am running an AIW Radeon (not a 7500 or 8500, just the
Radeon version) on my new P4 setup:
Asus P4S333 motherboard
1.8A Northwood @ 2.4GHZ
512MB Kingston/Nanya PC2100 DDR
AIW Radeon 32MB DDR
six assorted hard drives (330GB total)
Afreey 10X DVDROM
Iomega/Plextor 12x10x32...
Where to begin, where to begin...
As for my set-up, I'm running the following:
Asus P4S333
1.8A Northwood @2.4GHz
2x256 Kingston PC2100 DDR
SBLive Value
Intel 10/100+ NIC
ATI AIW Radeon
Maxtor ATA100 Ultra controller
Iomega/Plextor 12x10x32 CDRW
Afreey 10x DVDROM
3x60GB WD HD
1x80GB...
I've only got 256MB at the moment but intend to pick up some more
at a computer show tomorrow since I have had no luck buying any
off the FS/FT Forum because I am just not fast enough to catch it
when someone puts some up for sale....
In my situation, the misidentification may or may not be...
Hmmmm... Looks like I need to start pinging Maxtor and see if I can
get an updated driver to solve this problem. I'm pretty sure I got their
latest off their website, but either it's not working 100% or a grabbed
the wrong one...I'll have to check it and see. I seem to recall that their...
Well, okay, I know that XP says that the card is a SCSI controller, not an IDE controller
and consequently anything attached to it comes up as being SCSI...but why does Win98SE
correctly identify the controller and correctly identify drives attached to it as IDE devices?
Although I can access...
Greetings,
I have three IDE hard drives and an IDE CDRW attached to a Maxtor
PCI ATA100 controller in my new system. WinXP misidentifies these
drives as being SCSI drives and gives me some SCSI attributes I can
set in device manager which is a bit silly. I need for xp to properly
identify...
Hmmmm....
$50 or new CDRW drive...$50 or new CDRW drive....decisions, decisions....
And here I was wondering what I was going to do with this thing, sitting
here in it's original box with the NTI Software and Quickstart manual...and
the drive in a plastic baggy.
Good thing I didn't pitch it...
ooops! Hit the old ENTER button just a bit too soon....
I got in on this and picked up the 1.8A northwood P4 for $179.95 (they
jacked the price up $3 while I was registering) and my wife *wink* *wink*
got an Asus P4S333 and 256MB Kingston PC2100 DDR RAM stick for $156.90.
So, total shipped...
Just went through the same thing with my rebate...
I'd be really interested to see how many of these they rejected that
were correctly submitted.
I screwed up and did not make a copy of all my stuff before I sent it
off and so I was sweating this....but when I called the 866# to inquire
about...
For those of you who are using Onesuite to call to the Philippines:
I just sent them an e-mail concerning their rather confusing rates because my
wife calls her family via a land-line and that prefix is listed under the cell-phone
rates (i.e. listed as $0.1900/minute instead of $0.1350/minute)...
Might want to edit your title just a little so that it reads
"on orders over $100"... When I first read it, I thought
you had to order 100 or more DVD-R's to get them for
$2.95/each...
Good deal though, wish I could afford an A03...*SNIFF*
Geez, I hate it when I hit the <RETURN> key too quickly...
Anyway, I didn't like the crappy rebate form that they had on
their website, so I contacted PNY directly at "rebates@pny.com"
and had them send me a .pdf of the form.
If anyone wants a copy, you can contact their rebate person
at...
FWIW, I bought a slightly different model, the PV-V4521 at Kmart a couple of weeks
ago for $79.99 + tax. Then, this week, Circuit City has it on sale for $69.99... That
figures...
If anyone is interested in that, just go to www.circuitcity.com and do a search for
"PVV4521" and it'll come up.
I don't know about you guys, but I can only use so many paper clips...
I ordered some "Bic® Round Stic Ballpoint Pens, Medium Point, Black, Box Of 12",
SKU# 423582 for $0.89. They are here if you want to take a look : pens
Sure, they are $0.50 more than the "recycled paperclips", but I'm...
Thanks for the heads-up, picked up some AA size
last night at the local Kroger (Bloomington, Indiana).
They also had some deals on C and D size batteries
as well, but not as good as the AA and AAA deal.
They didn't have any deals on the 9-volt ones that
I could see...might need to pick up...
Yeah, you can get them at Walmart, just like diablonhn said.
I bought one a while back after I got tired of how long my old
Rayovac charger took to charge my batteries and I wanted to
make sure they got charged ASAP while I was on vacation.
The thing charged my batteries up really fast (quite...
It's a nice monitor, bought one from Dell a while back for my wife.
The rebate took forever though and did not appear after the designated
mailing date as specified on the wheresmyrebate.com website. Bought it
in (I think) July and rebate was not set to be mailed until October 12th!
I called...
I'm trying out their 30 DVDs in 30 Days for $19.99 promo because
I don't really need another DVD player. You can get one DVD a day
for thirty days, you return'em when they are normally due back
(i.e. two-day rental, five-day rental), so you can have several out
at one time, just can't rent...
