I suggest get the Gigabyte board. I have the Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-UD5P... It's a very good motherboard even with a defective case fan installed in one of the fan headers it manage to boot. So it can withstand a little bit of abuse I should say..
I was able to figure out what's causing the lock up when I go to Health Status in the BIOS. The fan that is hooked up in the fan headers labeled Sys Fan 2 is bad. When I un hooked it everything in the BIOS started working like it should. No more lock ups and now everytime I press the Delete...
Stoneburner, thanks for the help.. My wife's PC works fine until you try to mess with the BIOS or check the PC health status... I'm leaving it as is until she starts having issues with her applications. Thanks for your assistance.
lopri, I disable the ACC and as usual it took several attempts before I made it back inside the BIOS again but it still locks up when I select the PC health status. I'm using a USB Microsoft keyboard maybe I need a PS2 keyboard instead. Trying to get in the BIOS is hit and miss it really...
Mine's been on with the 965BE. I overclocked it to 3.8 by just adjusting the multiplier and it BSOD on me after a while of just surfing the net. So I'm back to normal 3.4 spee It's pretty fast for me already.
Anyway, I think the ASUS M4A79 Deluxe is good but the T deluxe is probably better...
I upgraded my wife's PC to Phenom X4 9950 and the Gigabyte MA-790FX-UD5P combo. The motherboard came with an F3 Bios version.
As always with a new motherboard I always go into the BIOS first to setup the parameters but When I press the "DEL" key to go in the BIOS it says "entering Setup"...
