Building for 4 Ghz with a Q9550 on air?

I second the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P. I bought this board for my Q9550 and it works great. I just locked the voltages to the "normal" value in bios (1.2V for Vcore, 1.168V actual in CPU-Z) and bumped up the FSB up to 450, giving me 3.82Ghz without so much as a whimper from this setup. It didn't have...

Monitoring CPU temps...

I'll 2nd Realtemp. From what I've read, it's more accurate on the Penryn chips like mine so that's why I'm using it. By the way, 86 degrees C on a core? Is that a typo? Because that seems awfully high to me, but then again I don't really know a lot about how Nehalem overclocks besides what...

Questions re new build with Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P

You can set the memory at 2.1V on this board. The selection turns red when you do it, indicating they don't think it's such a good idea, but it's possible.

You sold me on the UD3P. Reviews of the board are great all around, and everybody seems pretty happy. With a promo code and mail in rebate through Newegg, that puts this board at $100. That seems like a killer value, so that decision's been made, and the board is being ordered tonight! :)...

Hmm, for some reason this board fell through the net for me. It looks good, I really like the layout. About the only thing it doesn't have that I really need is three USB headers, as my case has 4 ports and I want to use a card reader in one of the bays. I could probably live without it though...
