I wish they had stuck to the 2 fast 2 furious naming. So, instead of Fast 5, it should have been 5 fast 5 furious.
Then, they could really mix it up, like 6 fast 7 furious, as if the furiousness was increasing faster than the fastness. Think about it.
Good points. I like my 24/7 appliances to use as little energy as possible. Last I heard, raspberry pi availability is pretty low. Not sure why they can't ramp up supply. I'll just continue using my power hungry phenom x3 system in the meanwhile.
Cool, thanks. I saw a review that said ~35W idle, with max around 100W. I'm guessing as long as I'm not running prime95, I should be OK. Also, with picopsu, that kill a watt reading might be lower.
About 5+ years ago, someone posted a link to alternate drivers to the scanner Vantas 3000 made by Microtek. The drivers were far superior to the Scanmodule v5.1 that Microtek is supplying for this scanner.
I'm hoping someone out there remembers what other driver was compatible.
Oh yea I forgot to mention I'd probably get new mobo as well.
I just kinda wanted to know what range I should get so I wouldn't go overkill on the cpu.
Hi,
My ati 9700pro died recently, so I got a geforce 6600gt.
From what I understand, in HL2, my p4 1.6 oc'd to 2.2 is underdriving my 6600gt.
So my question is, what cpu do I need to match well with my 6600gt? I run at 1280x1024 on my lcd.
Microtek has this cumbersome driver called ScanModule v5.1 for its Vantas 3000 scanner.
But, I remember someone mentioning another driver which works for this scanner, and is much better. I lost the file, so I want to find it again. Please help!
Can I buy the laptop adapter now (it's $40) and then wait for the weekend to do the price guarantee? There's only 1 left at my local CC and the person said all MS networking products went to clearance 2 weeks ago.
The plate which covers the ram gets pretty hot. But other than that, the thing is just warm. So I suppose don't put the ram plate directly on your lap. Careful not to block the air intake in the back left on the bottom.
I got one of these. I really like it. Although, it is my first laptop so I dont' really have anything to compare it to. I wish it had built in wireless. But as someone said before, you can get a wireless-b card for pretty cheap.
Epinion reviews are good. Random reviews on the internet also say it is quite a bargain. From using it for a day, it is solidly constructed and works well. Only time will tell about the reliability.
Got the last one at the Milpitas, CA store. But I'm having serious buyer's remorse and I haven't even opened it yet! The display model was really awesome... but its 12.1" screen bugs me.
For tree sap and bird crap that does not come off with soap, try using automotive clay bar. It has the consistency of moulding clay. The good brand is Clay Magic.
Yea I actually called my local store and they said they had 1 left in some bin in the back. I got it and the packaging was all cracked, but the product itself seemed unmolested. So I bought it. $4.33 was the grand total. The model is F5U025-32MB. The UPC is, I think, 7 22868 43792 6.
i called my local OD and they said this is out of stock.
BUT, they do have a substitute. Same processor, 14.1" screen (downgrade from 15"), 20 GB hd (downgrade for 40GB), 24x cdrom (downgrade form dvd/cdrw), radeon 7000 (i think it's the same)
but it's ~$50 cheaper... i think it's not worth...
Yea, that's what I meant, hehe. I'd like to buy something that could handle future programs for a longer time than something which is already obsolete.
After some googling, I found that the Bartons do not have less power consumption. So I suppose upgrading the processor won't make my laptop any cooler?
huge as in a potentially hot deal or huge as in size?
edit: i tried to take the bottom cover off, but I could not. i removed every screw... but it was still glued on or something. anyhow i'm gonna return it cause it's just too hot to handle (literally).
I asked some guy in the Fremont store if he could call around the different stores and find a non-open box (brand new) for me. He said they will all be open box. That is why the price is so low. Not sure he is trustworthy.
But I bought one plus the warranty and it came out to ~$630. Not...
I'm currently using Scanmodule v5.1, but I remember someone saying a different driver was viable and was much better. Does anyone know what that driver is and where to get it? thanks.
