Only GCN cards from AMD will receive partial DX 12 support. Also, the GTX 750 and 750 Ti are are also not true DX 12 GPUs even though they are Maxwell...
If every card has its own core/memory ratio, overclocking tri and quad setups would be a nightmare.
Any recommendations on how to go about finding the ratio?
I wouldn't exactly call it a leap, maybe a small step backwards followed by an eventual step forward which may leave you a small step ahead of your starting position :whiste:
It really depends on the chip, there seems to be large variance in the stock voltages and TIM thickness on chips. I personally never tested a stock Haswell chip since I delidded it prior to initial installation. The chip currently sits bare die under an EK block. My brother's stock 4770K on...
Prices have started to fall back to MSRP. It may be a little late to jump on that boat.
Also, there is another beta patch that should drop within 2 weeks, may be worth waiting for the patch considering he has already waited this long.
Fixed that for you
The weakness of both companies is the lack of high end chips in ITX form factor. I am still looking forward to seeing something better than a GTX 760 or R9 270X in this form factor from either of the two.
Not according to this review. Even when both cards are overclocked, the 270X has a substantial performance boost over the 270 unless you load a custom bios...
The average price of the 7 R9 290s that I own was $371 of which 6 are under water :whiste:
Speaking of MSRP, Newegg currently has the MSI R9 290 GAMING at the MSRP price of $469.99 and it is in stock :hmm:
Conveniently, the prices of the R9 270X are finally dropping back down to MSRP. The PowerColor PCS+ AXR9 270X is a good choice at $220 and it includes BF4.
The Asus DCII is currently one of the worst aftermarket R9 290s. The best is currently the Sapphire Tri-X followed by the PowerColor PCS+
The upcoming Sapphire Vapor-X and Toxic should outperform the Tri-X, the same should be true for the Asus Matrix and the MSI Lightning but I'll wait for...
You really do need to read up on aftermarket R9 290s and stop basing your conclusions on the reference models... :whiste:

Obviously, the Sapphire R9 290X TOXIC with 8GB VRAM
Baasha's 6480x3840 quad Titan setup seems to be running into vram issues with MSAA enabled.
Then again vram shouldn't be a concern with just a single 4k display :)
Eh? AMD has been in the black for the last two quarters. AMD hasn't been trying to compete with Intel on the performance front for a few years now...
I would rather use the minimum FPS...
Not specific to mining but market share was down Q3 and Q4...
Market share in Q4 was down for discrete cards:
Market share was also down when including integrated solutions:
Notebooks were the hardest hit sector for AMD. They finally got their mobile R9 290s available to the market this quarter and they completely failed to launch a mobile product that was competitive with haswell for the holiday season. Hence why I, much like most other consumers, opted for Intel...
Those figures are so wrong... Can easily hit 950-1000 khash on the 290X while undervolting with custom bios... Also, you won't be anywhere near 294 khash with the GTX 750 Ti with 60W power consumption...
On a side note, why doesn't anyone simplify Khash/s/watt to Khash/J
More slots = more...
