By your logic, there is no need for the development of Snapdragon 600. And yet Qualcomm went ahead with it. Technology in this mobile space does not stagnate.

Even the latest quad core Snapdragon 600 had to take the back seat. No idea how the Snapdragon 800 will fare though I suspect that one will end up more in tablets than smartphones.
A true blue x86 Windows...
What's wrong with Clover Trail+? Its 2C/4T CPU and new GPU does well even against the likes of quad core Snapdragons and Tegras. The only disappointment is LTE support which will only be coming much much later.
Here's another one, this time on the GPU

Running Citadel, looks to be in the region of perhaps 56fps to 58fps on average, even topping past the 60fps Vsync cap on 1080p!. Too bad, didn't show average fps at the end.
Comparisons...
Some real benchmarks here
http://blog.gsmarena.com/lenovo-k900-hands-on-impressions-and-synthetic-benchmarks/
Looks like the previously rumored Antutu benchmark leaks are real after all. For a dual core, it does manage to hold its own against quad cores like Samsung Galaxy SIII and HTC One.
Then you may want to check this review. Its one the very few comparisons that pits top CPUs against lower end CPUs. :hmm:
That Core i3 2120 should be a lot faster than your Xeon W3503, core-to-core wise (also considering the former clocks are much higher). And there's also that A8-3850 which...
For scaling, I'm looking at 8 threads on the Bulldozer versus 8 threads on the Gulftown, since we do not have 12 thread Bulldozer sample data (thus how Bulldozer scales beyond 8 threads is unknown, waiting for Interlagos on that one). Deltas are similar on a few of those tests (the ones without...
The end results do matter (that's what benchmarks measure). The thing is the scaling is very similar for both despite the throughput claims. Perhaps rather than CMT, AMD should be looking at SMT which is less complex and takes up less die area. :)
The odd one out is CLOMP.......
Bulldozer seems...
At only 2.4GHz and 2C/2T, of course it would be slower than anything higher than that. Even the W3680 with 3.33GHz and 6C/12T would certainly be much faster. You may want to check your motherboard specifications and see if it can support a higher CPU though (and possibly a BIOS update may be...
One of the "quiet" guys finally shows up. Linus (the other one, not the Linux guy) finally came around to benchmark the FX8150 against i5 2500K. >>> AMD Bulldozer FX-8150 vs Intel Core i5 2500K 8-Core Gaming Benchmarks Linus Tech Tips :)

He couldn't run Witcher 2 though...
Your 2500K is fine. :)
Just that the selection of reviews AMD highlighted in their blog is highly questionable (borders on looking rather ridiculous IMHO, as VRZone's Administrator once said "... I laugh my balls off"). :hmm:
Both Guru3D and Overclockers Club are notorious for testing games in often GPU limited scenarios (where everything is max'ed out). Bjorn3D and TweakTown often does the same thing as well. And yet they all got left out of the list?! :P
So what gives? Is it some game they used (I have a feeling...
Wow! What's up at AMD? Where's the top reviewers like Anandtech, Tom's Hardware and Tech Report? Not to mention oldies like Guru3D, TechSpot, Bittech, Hexus, TweakTown, OverclockClub and Xbit? LostCircuits fell out of favor too? :hmm:
And in AMD's list, they picked Computer Shopper?! Anyone saw...
Already posted here.....
4.9GHz is as close as you can get.:P
IMHO this all boils down to the marketing department's "8 cores awesome-ness" gimmick, and puts AMD into a corner. Lots of hype but not real information. For the well informed, they know that Bulldozer is more like 4 cores with...
I went thru 7 pages, but no direct link to the benchmark comparison page. The most he mentions is this on the last page......
Still no links, though its interesting that he mentions the Linux patch (if not mistaken for cache aliasing issues). Also in that last page......
Oh dear! He still thinks...
Except that article did not publish the link to the benchmark comparison at all(!) Here is the actual benchmark link >>> AMD FX-4100 vs. Fusion vs. Sandy Bridge.......
Even a Phenom II X4 at stock speeds can beat FX-4100 overclocked. At least someone on Youtube had the guts to post some...
This could be the original source of the B3 stepping news - Bulldozer errata >>> AMD veröffentlicht Fehlerliste des Bulldozer and B3 stepping >>> Bulldozer bald mit neuem Stepping OR-B3 ?. Official errata list >>> AMD 15h (Bulldozer) Revision Guide :hmm:
The FX-4100 is not a true quad core, rather its more like a dual core with SMT (HyperThreading). Thus its much more similar to Core i3 than to Phenom II X4 processor. That's why in many multi-threading benchmarks the FX-4100 performs slower than Phenom II X4. Here's another review with FX-4100...
Even many at OCN saw him as trolling. Anyone checking out that website, can easily see the type of person "quientiam" really is (he even deleted comments not favorable to his mindset). And a big LOL at the OCN mod (especially him, who kept closing threads on Bulldozer leaks). :D
Linux benchies for FX8150 are out >>> More AMD FX-4100, FX-8150 Bulldozer Linux Details. Bulldozer versus other CPUs >>> Bulldozer Benchmark Comparison.
Like I said before in the other thread, this is the new trend (we have seen quite a number lately, the new regs). Kinda remind me of this predicament. :D
But, wait.... All 4 reviews having the same problem, with different motherboard models (one M5A99X EVO and the rest are Crosshair V), different graphic cards (one HD6970 and the rest are GTX580), different PSUs, etc. If there are problems with RAM then other software would have crashed as well...
Another FX PR disaster with Cinebench R11.5 (again!) at TigerDirect TV's AMD FX-8120 Bulldozer Benchmark. This time its the FX-8120 with water cooling scoring 5.06 at stock speed. That's a little better than this out-of-the-box FX-8120 that scored 4.89. Actually the score should be higher than...
This is not the ideal world. Quite often, its not easy to avoid talking about competitor's products in a public forum. Sometimes the person may observe and point out the weakness or possible issues (which sometimes the other side refuse to acknowledge, tries to refute the information or tries to...
Surprisingly this game was part of AMD Gaming Evolved >>> AMD Gaming Evolved Total War Shogun 2, talk about screw-ups. Did the game developers get a Bulldozer for testing? :hmm:
Same here, though in the last few months I rarely post there. :)
And had few of the mods at OCN and quite a number of fans "under his spell". That's why I post here instead. :)
Quite a number of people already noticed that earlier (before me). :D
Same here, I've never PM'ed him nor sent hate...
Usually most compilers will avoid certain instruction sequences, or reorder them to avoid known processor bugs (such as padding with NOPs). There must be some sequence of instructions used in the Total War: Shogun 2 game that triggered it. Is there a errata list for Bulldozer? :hmm:
Is there a bug or problem with Bulldozer? Initially when I saw that on Bittech and Hardware.fr reviews, I didn't think much of it. But then another two reviews (from Muropaketti and SweClockers.com) also reported the same problem, regardless of motherboard and BIOS settings. I know all...
Then what about this post......
Often your "corrections" resulted in a couple of guys who debated about Bulldozer's IPC, are now no longer posting (or banned, like what happened at XS). :hmm:
