How big of a fat32 HD partition can Win2k reconize?

Also after 8GB you are actually using FAT32x which has lager 8k clusters instead of the normal 4k clusters you get with FAT32 on a 8GB or smaller partition.

Does Defrag always take sooo long?

It also depends on if you leave the option checked to rearrange your programs for better performance. Leaving it checked greatly extends the time it takes to defrag since it also rearranges your programs based on how often you boot each app.

256 mb RAM and WIN98

It supports much more, but from experiance I have used many Win08 machines with 256MB and no problems, Win98 also works fine with 320MB which is how much I have now on my machine now.

Maxtor and Win2k SP1 problem... Anyone? -FIXED!

I had Win2K SP1 with a 40GB maxtor, no problems. At work we have 100 workstations with 20GB maxtor's and they all Run Win2K SP1 with no problems.

Win XP will be better for games than Win2K, it is replacing 9x you know. And Win2k will run most games, the only game I could not run was Carmageddon 2 because it detected I was running a Window NT OS and refused to run.

Get one thing straigt. MS is NOT forcing REGISTRATION, they are forcing ACTIVATION. Registration is a sperate optional entity of Whistler.

any whistler **beta testers** out there??

It'll be out in less than a year. I'm sure drivers wont be a problem, there is already Voodoo5 Drivers :-). Whistler will be a damn cool OS (Already is), can't wait for Beta 1. I would suggest any thinking of WinME should save their pennies for Whistler. My 2 Cents ~Nit

Booting Windows98SE Takes Forever!

While your box boots does windows just seem to pause at boot for about 20-30 seconds? If do you DHCP enabled on your NIC? If so you can try setting a static IP to see if your box is just having prblems getting an IP. Just a Thought
