Can't boot from external HDD

I just bought a docking station for connecting a standard HDD to my laptop. I can open it fine in Windows Explorer, but booting from it doesn't seem to work. I have tried both with USB and eSata. When trying to boot with eSata, all I get is a black screen with a blinking cursor. When trying...

Can I make the Windows cursor appear ingame?

I just had a glitch where the windows mouse cursor appeared inside the game on top of the game's cursor. I actually liked it since the windows cursor is always hardware accelerated unlike some software accelerated game cursors, and there seemed to be less input lag and the cursor moved quicker...

SSD spare space confusion.

Dr. Canny: there was no difference, no. But I took C1:s advice and reinstalled Windows 8 and after installing Intel HD graphics it worked! It's strange that I downloaded the exact same Intel HD drivers for Windows 7 and that didn't work. Problem solved anyway!

Yeah I guess I'll go back to Win 8 for this. But it's strange that it didn't work on Win 8 either. Don't new computers come with drivers preinstalled? Thanks anyway.

Well all the required drivers like chipset and graphics are installed. There were a bunch of optional ones but they were for the webcam etc.

The buttons bring up the OSD and moves the slider, but no actual change in brightness. Have I received a defective unit?

How important are Volts and Ampere on AC adapters?

OK, thanks. It says "DC Power" on the device itself, but I don't know how to check for polarity. I think I'll have to go to a store and ask about that. Edit: it's negative, I found the symbol.

How important are Volts and Ampere on AC adapters?

Hi, I'm looking for an AC adapter for a device of mine that wants 17V and 2A. Do I have to get an adapter with exactly 17V, or would I be fine with 18V? And does having more ampere than needed matter? If I had 4A on the adapter, would the device only use its 2A and be fine?

It is a desktop. It seems to have happened only when Ive had lots of programs running chewing up my RAM. Might be coincidental though.

Power Draw on CPU's

Not sure if this is relevant to you, but the biggest upside power draw-wise might be the igpu and the fact that you dont need a discrete gpu. That could easily shave off 30 watts or more idle.
