That could certainly explain the problems I've had then. I tried to register on there and sent a request to the owner for access. Thanks again Kaido! :)

I'm not 110% sure about that though. With my MB running in AHCI Mode (ep45-ud3p) I can't install Vista either. It doesn't get past the HD partition part. I have to use some drivers to get past that. However, now I am only getting 75% of the way through the install before it crashes. Hmm...

Lakeviewman - Can you repost the link to "GA-EP45-UD3P: Enable AHCI on Intel Chipsets" please? That comes up as unfound. I've been having ONE HECK OF A TIME!! getting windows to install on AHCI. I would love to know exactly what you did. I have probably invested about 4 hours of trial &...

    The Hackintosh 101 Thread

Also, Kaido: I would now recommend this USB Card reader instead. It also includes an eSATA port on the front of it! http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820816001

    The Hackintosh 101 Thread

My PERSONAL recommendation would be to get rid of any IDE drive on your system, and use ALL SATA. Once you have that, be ABSOLUTELY SURE to disable anything related to IDE on the Bios and switch to AHCI. ;-) MY MEMORY UPDATE: Okay, I had mentioned that I thought there might be problems...

Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

Yeah - I just booted my system up to the Boot-123 CD, then swapped it for the Leopard Retail Disc. Installed the OS. After it rebooted I went ahead and updated the system to 10.5.6. Reboot. Continue to update the system, reboot. After that, loaded up the rest Uninstalled on the thumb drive...

When you hit enter, type 80 to boot to your hard drive. Additionally, you can always try the 123boot cd to load up to the OS manually, see if that works.

mosslack -- I also see you have an GA-EP45-UD3P w/ the same Proc. I have. What kind of RAM do you use on your board? Any issues when you tried to go above 2 GB? And I'm just curious which video card you like best out of all 4 boxes you have. ;) Thanks!

Sorry to sound so ignorant here, but when you say "solve my problem" do you mean that it will FIX things, or identify the fault as being the memory, etc..? As I understand it, that is just to verify the read/write integrity of the memory itself to identify whether or not the memory is good/bad...

Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

I haven't checked my line-in yet.. But if I find a microphone laying around I can try... (Don't think I have one though) Besides that, another EP45-UD3P related question. I've had two 1x1GB Sticks of DDR800 OCZ memory running great. I just received two 2GB sticks of Corsair XMS DDR800...

Is iLife 09 better than 08?

I like iMovieHD '06, and iMovie '09. I really don't care for iMovie '08. The 09 version is much different, but just that... DIFFERENT.. I think once you get used to it, you MAY end up preferring iMovie 09. Just my $0.02.
