    Fast HDR?

I shoot RAW whenever I can, but I can't always take the time to set the correct settings for the shot I want because of the two little kiddos I mentioned. That's when HDR steps up and does what I need quickly. The ability to shoot RAW is one of the major reasons I chose the S95 to begin with...

parents - how quick did you introduce the bottle?

The mouth heals up in like two days. It isn't exactly surgery. It is literally a quick snip. There is only a couple drops of blood, and nursing can occur immediately. We nursed in the room before leaving to soothe kiddo who was more pissed off that somebody was messing with his mouth than...

parents - how quick did you introduce the bottle?

Read OP and nothing more. Qualifications: nursed two kids It really depends on the kid. A nipple shield can ultimately cause more problems than it solves, but can prevent some painful damage while you work on latch. Finding out if kid has a lip or tongue tie can be hard in areas with inept...

What first world problem did you have today?

Couldn't wear the clothes I wanted to bc a full wash/dry cycle takes 4 hours with this combo washer/dryer. It seems like a brilliant device until you use it.

    New Sony RX100 III

Anyone had one of these for a while now and have feedback on how they like it? $800 is a lot for a little camera. That's more than I spent on a new DSLR 6 years ago. Debating this and Canon S120 at present.

Old point and shoot vs new phone

Lots of MP doesn't assure a good print. You still need a decent sensor and processor. Most likely, your phone is going to be better for most of these situations which are candids/snaps that won't get printed but just saved for the sake of memory. To decide what to take on vacation, go to your...

    Fast HDR?

I do know and understand that sensor size matters. So, I usually lug around my Canon DSLR when I can. As much as I love it, I really print very few shots (although I hope to eventually print out more, but decent places to do so seem to be dwindling). Most of the time, it's just looking at things...

    Fast HDR?

I have an iphone 5c. I opted for it because it costs less and seemed more durable since I have small children, so let's not debate that. I like its HDR quality, but my very nice Canon S95 cannot compete with it and this seems surprising. Maybe it's because the iphone camera is newer tech...

    Chromebook and viewing RAW

Thanks! I already tried that. You have to import the photo first. You can't just view the contents of your camera card that I saw. Bc the chromebook file system won't preview it for you, you have to blindly choose. It's a piss poor oversight imo. Google could fix this. Otherwise, I do like...

Inexpensive cameras for a 7 and 8 year old

My sister gave my 5 yr old her old point and shoot digital. I think at young ages, anything with some basic options will be fine. Though there is something to be said for building your own. But if that's not feasible, I think most kids would do well with whatever is available.

    Chromebook and viewing RAW

I am sure this has come up before, but I am not finding it. I need to just view RAW photos on my chromebook without having to download them first bc that is a shitload of photos I will then have to delete. It's inefficient. Is there an app or extension to view RAW photos on Chromebooks...

PSA: Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown @ 8PM EST on ABC

I have it on DVD so that I don't have to miss it. However, there's something different about "cheating" and watching it on DVD. But I have a toddler, so it's best not to make firm plans ever, because it makes them have meltdowns.

What temperature do you keep your house in the winter?

How can I heat my house safely or cook when the power is out? Never use a gas range or oven for heating. Using a gas range or oven for heating can cause a build up of CO inside your home, cabin, or camper. http://www.cdc.gov/co/faqs.htm I had more, but damn browser...

Baby Thinks Magazine is Just Broken iPad

This is pretty much my thought as well. At that age, they just try actions they know got results. The video is simply the author transferring his own thoughts to her. It's equally possible she just likes how the shiny, slippery glossy paper feels and uses the same motion to experience it.

Gay and lesbian couples maybe should'nt raise kids

Yeah, because straight parents never raise kids that have sexual identity issues.... What a moronic thing to suggest. People who believe that argument are either gullible or homophobes trying to hide behind a facade of "doing what's best for the children."

    Canon price history (s90/s95/s100)

GPS on cameras seems to mostly suck. Have you read up on how well that features works and how terribly it kills the battery life? Get the s95 unless there's something else truly super awesome that will improve your pictures in the s100.

    Worlds brightest handheld laser

Considering the close range you'd need to successfully employ such a device, I wouldn't advise using one, even if it existed. The thing people often don't consider in using sprays is that you (the sprayer) are going to be affected as well.

    Fuji FinePix f550 exr

Well, I'm also a stubborn jerk and probably had to learn this lesson for myself. Sagalore could definitely vouch for this. Maybe others will learn from my mistake. It really did sound like a good camera...until I saw the picture quality.

    Worlds brightest handheld laser

Ok, I can sort of understand this, but not entirely. It's unusual to have a 1 mile line of sight in the woods. If you are signaling somebody in the air, they won't be that high, and you might injure them? (I don't know at what distance it becomes eye safe) Still seems like overkill. Probably...

    Fuji FinePix f550 exr

FYI, I bought this, and it's going back. I am very disappointed in the picture quality. The features are nice, but they should have skipped the (reportedly) near useless GPS and put that money into a better lens. Doesn't focus well either. Autofocus always seems to be focusing everywhere but...

    Be careful with opiods

From what I've seen lately, this is probably one of the more positive threads on the forum. So yeah, gloat away man. It's tough to kick an addiction. I think those of us who have had to take them and didn't get addicted were so damn terrified of the pills that we stopped them before we maybe...

Beach camping - tell me what to buy

I started a camping tips thread earlier in the season. Search for it, it's full of great advice. Specific to what you are doing -- get a welcome mat of sorts to put in front of your tent so that you dont' drag a ton of sand into it (and hence into your sleeping bag). Don't be a douche and...

    Subaru Forester

If you don't properly care for the tires, that might be the result? Not a mechanic, but I do know that you do have to properly rotate them. And, you have to replace all 4 wheels at once. So if you get a flat you can't fix in one, you may have to replace them all.

I had an emergency c-section and they gave me percocet when I was released from the hospital. However, I also forced myself to stop taking...
