I used the procedure on infinitemac to install 10.6, but I'm not getting audio. I can use the USB card for audio, which is the easiest thing, but I'd like to free up the usb port. Hmmm. Also, I don't get a HDD icon on my desktop. I can see the hdd in the side bar when I open a finder window...

Hackintosh 10.5.5 Retail Rig - Starting at $305

I built my hackintosh based on the G31M-ES2L mobo and have been using it since last winter/early spring without many/any problems. I'm ready to upgrade to Snow Leopard and was wondering if there's a guide that outlines everything I need to do. I'm currently running 10.5.8. Thanks for any advice.

I'm no expert on this, but when using digital audio out on my mac mini I don't get volume control either. I think this is intentional. If you're using audio out, that must mean (not sure if this is true) that you're connected to a receiver which will control the volume. I haven't dug into...

I"ve been running for nearly a week now and no problems to speak of on my g31m-es2l hackintosh. This computer has been serving 4 different user accounts pretty much around the clock. Sweet deal!

I guess I was a little optimistic. After about 10 minutes I noticed the hum again. Hmmm. Up till now the speakers were always good. Is there some kind of shielding of the wires that I can do?

They're connected to the same plug-in power surge outlet. That's how it was on the previous mac mini with no hum. When I unplug the cable to the speaker jack, the hum goes away; when I plug it in the hum comes back. I'll plug the speakers into the other recptacle (not on the power surge plug)...

One thing I've noticed is a hum when the speakers are plug into anything (line out on back, headphones on front, AND USB). Any ideas?

Thanks! I reinstalled and the scrolling seems to be fixed. The sound shows up as either headphones or line out in the control panel (is this expected, or should it automatically detect headphones connected to the front/default to line out?).. Defaulting to the line out and auto detecting...

I have the G31M-ES2L up and running, but there are two problems I'm encountering. When I grab a window to move it the screen doesn't seem to update, and when scrolling in a web browser window only part of the window scrolls and after scrolling for a couple of seconds the whole window becomes...

There's a header on the board, but you have to buy a card. You can find them on ebay for about $16. Don't know how it works on a hackintosh

Is there a way to copy/duplicate the drive (with all of the users and their data) from my old mac to the hackintosh? It seems like I had seen something called superduper a while back, but I can't find it right now.

I missed the new kit by about 10 minutes. I just used the DS3L kit and the hackintosh booted right up under 10.5.7. One thing I've noticed is I have to select the line out audio or the headphone audio in the sound control panel. Is there a way for me to get this to work, or should I start over...

I'm tempted to go ahead and try it. I got OSX 10.5 installed on my drive using my mac mini (SATA-USB cable). My installation will use the G31M-ES2L mobo. So, I'm not sure if I understand the options I need to check. - I'll select the GA-EP35-DS3L in the Uinstaller. - What about the boxes...
