Can anybody explain what this error means, it happens at reboot/shutdown in verbose:
My hack does actually reboot/shutdown fine, but I want to know if the above is serious or not?
Thanks in advance.
Installed now, 2nd time of trying. At first I got: "Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer......The installer cannot prepare the volume for installation. You may need to prepare your disk using Disk Utility."
When searching for that on Google all the results were from actual Apple...
Is there any advantages with a Firewire soundcard/interface as opposed to USB? I don't mean in terms of audio latency etc., just in terms of the card behaving itself in Leopard?
Thanks in advance.
Just beginning to get a Leopard install going, I've read Leopard Soup a ton of times and...
Sure, but the guy who started that thread on insanelymac appears to know his stuff. You could always send him a private message and see if it's still working.
Or how about this: Digital USB Sound Card for under $100.
I like the sound of that.
Further to Hernandito's questions, what would I need on my stick when I have the following hardware:
Gigabyte 8600GT 256MB (fanless) - the one listed as working by Kmax82
LAN card (Netgear GA311)
USB sound card
No IDE devices, No PS/2

I really like that new Asrock ION nettop, the white one especially.
They're available now here in the UK, £280/$460 (Asrock NetTop ION330 System, Intel Atom 330, 2GB, DDR2, 320 GB HDD)
26 pages of whinging on Macrumors already. :D
Love the design but that control method is a tad convoluted, triple-click the play button to go back a track?
So am I the only person in the world that's never used the numberpad? :D
If they were ceasing the production of the full-size keyboard I could understand the annoyance, but I don't see the big deal otherwise.
Thoughts on the new Zotac 9300 mini-ITX board? It's only just been released: Newegg. A more flexible small-footprint alternative to the Mini?
9400 version is apparently due soon.
It's great for what it is, but the base model isn't worth £500 ($700 at current exchange rates) to me. In every single area I can buy a better components for less money.
If you start upgrading the Mini you then get close to the iMac prices.
Mac Mini spec is still underwhelming.
I'm more excited about the fact that the small Apple keyboard now comes in wired version. :D

Would a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R be a safe bet? It's virtually identical to the GA-EP45-UD3P, including the same cooling/heatsinks, I compared the differences between the two:
UD3P: PCI-Express X16 (X16) - 2 (1x16 or 2x8)
UD3R: PCI-Express X16 (X16) - 1
UD3P: PCI - 2
UD3R: PCI - 3 (has an...
