I could still use a solution to this if anyone is out there.
Restarting the PC seems to keep it at bay temporarily but after a while of being on it just creeps up again.
My only thought is to maybe RMA my video card?
Hey folks,
I don't get stumped much but this one has me. For the past week or two, before and after Win7 SP1 x64, this has been an issue. I lock my desktop when I am away from the desk, mainly out of habit, and because of other people in the house.
When I come back and turn on the monitor...
A good video card will not fix a 16ms response time. With lower MS though I tend to ditch vsync and just push for more FPS with better cards to help compensate for any kind of tearing.
I wouldn't expect prices to drop a ton on black friday, maybe more so on the 4890 as it is a bit older.
If you have the money I would just go with the 5850 now. Not like their are many drawbacks to this card and assuming this fits the specs of the rest of your rig it is a great buy.
I'd say you are imagining things. Generally I let all graphic detail options be set in game as some games are more demanding than others and this gives the best performance per game. Sure it isn't as easy as "one setting to rule them all" but it does give the best graphics per game balanced...
Do we really need to be splitting hairs over something so trivial?
The point is, ATI is doing well, and I think that is all that matters for fans of PC hardware industry that like lower prices and competition.
I told numerous people before the launch of the 5xxx to pick up AMD stock as...
I have the G2400W model and I love it. I want to pick up a second one. This whole 1080 monitor business drives me nuts. I'd much rather have 1900x1200 but the difference price is annoying and the availability of well priced models is slim to none.
Who cares about 1080p when you can have...
The clocks weren't listed unfortunately. They entry was there, a mention of quarter four and the rest of the spreadsheet was empty for that part. I presume that means ATI hasn't finalized them yet.
No, its not.
The 5970 is the 5870x2. I've seen OEM lists confirming the existence of a 5970 and recent rumor articles seem to peg that as Hemlock, the dual chip card. So it seems we may be in for a name change at this point unless ATI changes it before launch.
The card is 12" long for those curious.
Price will get there eventually with competition and as the generation goes on. I suspect the 5870x2 which should be out in a matter of weeks may also bring on some drops on the other cards.
My case cooling is more than adequate so the Vapor-X doesn't bother me much in that regard. Definitely looking forward to that card however, hoping to have some news in the coming days.
The 2GB is probably going to be a per-vendor decision kind of like the 4850x2 which Sapphire went ahead with. ATI doesn't seem to want to make it a standard at this point so there may not be a bunch of different OEMs that have them. Personally I want one of these as well.
Definitely the route you should go unless you can hold out for the 57xx series next week, as that is the rumored launch. Keep it in mind before you pull the trigger.
This sounds pretty logical though the only thing I could see holding those prices back is the fact that the GT300 won't be out by then. So if it doesn't happen by Christmas I expect it to happen by the Nvidia launch in January.
I suspect the 5870x2 won't hit $600. 500-550 is what OEMs seem to be shooting for. I figure by the time it launches the 5870 will be be around $300 so that the X2 will be a comparative deal.
Wasn't really concerned with bottlenecking. If you have 100$ to spend generally you want the best you can get under that price range. It would also give head room for any future upgrades.
But yes, he could do with less.
Not sure what size power supply you have but this is your best bang for the buck under $100, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814127414
30A and a 450W PSU minimum is generally what you need for that card. If you cant cover that then look towards a 4670 possibly
*coughs*
I've been saying the same for a couple of weeks now, the Q1 delay has been known through the OEM channels for a while now.
Regardless the big issue will be price point. This massive die is going to cost more than a few nice and shiny pennies and it won't be easy to compete on...
Are you trying to say that 3 and a half months isn't a long wait in the world of GPUs and hardware upgrades? Because I would certainly disagree with you...
Its very well may be close to mass production but I still don't expect to see it this year regardless of what NordicHardware thinks.
If this is even remotely true it is a real shame that things have come to this point. Locking out major graphic features from a rival is terrible repercussion for consumers regardless of which side of the fence you are on.
I wonder if Nvidia is telling these Focus Groups the same thing they are telling OEMs, as in, don't expect product until early next year?
And so continues the next 3 and a half months of hype trying to spin specs and speculation to get buyers to hold off on their even-later-than-expected...
The 5870x2 will be 12 inches long. It is massive and some measuring may need to be done for certain cases. I know it will fit in my P182 with the upper bay removed so I may consider it.
Comparing speculation-based hardware to in-the-hand gpus is pretty absurd. We really have little idea what is going to happen with the GT300 though I am still hearing the rumors that it won't be out until CES.
Ya I haven't quite figured out how to link to direct posts here, so those are just the pages of my posts =p
Tempted the pull the trigger but I am considering holding out for the 2GB.
The typo was on the slides, I did confirm that later on. They mixed up the 5870 and 5850 and listed the...
