    I basically have the same thing (a 690), and I'm waiting for the 390X or the 980Ti. Titan X is too much and so is the 980. I want a single GPU that flat out beats my 690 for about $750 max.

    I did not know that. When the 980 game out I looked at the reviews pretty carefully and it didn't seem the 980 flat out beat the 690. Well, then that's good news about the 390x.

    Also, for the record, as someone who likes high end GPU's and doesn't have a dog in the red/green fight, I really don't care much at all about power consumption. A 300w card would be powered and cooled just fine in my system and I'd eat any marginal electricity costs.

    Hmmm...if the 390x comes out and can beat a Nvidia GTX 690 (which I have), I may try it out. My 690 is starting to chug at 2560x1440. It doesn't appear like there's any new flagship coming from Nvidia in the next few months, although I certainly could be wrong.

    I think the thing that interests me most with the potential prices and power efficiency is the prospect of a future dual GPU card that could best my 690 for $1,000 or under. Maybe just a pipe dream. Love the 690, but it is becoming V-RAM limited for some games at my res.

    I can only seem to find a few Carrier Assault servers active at a gven time and their pings are awful. Too bad because, while it isn't nearly as fun as Titan mode, I enjoy it quite a bit.
