Thanks for the quick replies. I would've post this on avsforum but I thought I might get faster response here :)
I was hoping that someone with a Kill-A-Watt might know this for sure.
I have a hunch about the trickle charge also. If that is the case then the extra power consumption should...
I have some extra APC UPS lying around so I thought why not use it for something other than computers. I plan to use it for living room's HT system (TV, receiver, etc) and bedroom's TV.
My main concern is just for surge protection since I don't really need the extended runtime for TV.
My...
Thanks for the suggestions guys.
The auto adjust doesn't not fix it but the phase/clock solves it.
Quick follow up questions :
1. What does the Phase/Clock setting does ? is it kinda like sharpening effect ?
2. I thought the max refresh rate on LCD is 60 ? wouldn't higher rate be...
I've just upgraded my video card from ATI 7000 series to X1650 Pro AGP.
I use the DVI - VGA since the monitor is VGA only (Dell E171FP).
The text use to be nice and sharp but after the upgrade, the text looks blurrier to me.
They look as if they double.
I adjust Cleartype and it help...
Aphex,
I kinda feel the same way sometimes, especially after replacing my D70 with D200.
I would like to take assortment of lenses to my travel but I never did. The most that I carry with me is 24-120mm VR + 50mm 1.8. I realize that I will miss some shots compare to with faster lenses but...
We did that close to 1 year ago and never look back. I got really sick of Cox keep raising their rates (we don't have any other choices in provider). We were paying close to $90 (with taxes & fees) for regular expanded cable + high speed internet. After reviewing our TV habits, we realize...
One of the other affordable solution would be to get a Close Up filter. You can stack them up to get even closer. The cheapest macro lens that I can think of is a used 55mm Macro AI/AIS, but I think D70s can't meter with it so it will be full manual.
You can also get a Sigma 70-300mm APO...
Try calling Samy's (Santa Ana or LA). Last time I was there (2 weeks ago) they said that their waiting list is around 50-ish, not too shabby.
I think that is the best lens for that range and a lot of people realize that, thus the high demand.
You can barely play games from 2-3 years ago with that config ?
Yikes, my system must be dog old then (P4 & 6600GT).
I hate keeping up with the new games, always a losing battle.
Think about it this way.
How many hours you've spent playing PS2 or PC so far?
the winner gets the upgrade.
D200 is targeted at a different segment of the market.
You know which one you need. D40/D50 suit 1st time user, D70s/D80 suit user looking for a bit more advance features, D200 is best suited for pro oriented photographer who likes to micromanage everything, D2HS/D2XS when money is no object...
Phil,
How hard is it to install this thing on your laptop ?
I have Toshiba M55-S135 with Celeron M 370 too, so I guess this should work on my lappy too right ?
Just curious though, how much speed increase that I can expect ?
Looking at the spec, both have same bus speed and cache size...
Oddly enough, these cars does not have the usual black tape/cover anywhere on the body like the usual test cars.
They don't make any effort to hide them.
Good find martensite.
The pictures that I took definately look like Cefiro.
While the car have MI plates, I took these shots in AZ.
Is it possible that Nissan is considering to bring the Cefiro here ?
I was driving in Hwy 101 and I passed these 2 exact cars.
They look a bit odd and I don't remember seeing any car like this.
I don't follow car news that much but maybe they were testing a new car ?
They removed the car logo but the shape looks very much like Nissan Logo.

This is what I do for a large pill that's hard to swallow. Dissolve them in water, then use a syringe with no needle, pull the mix water and medicine in, and force feed it to the cat
Waaa, kawaiiiiii !
congrats on the really cute pictures.
The 50mm f/1.8 is a nice lens.
2 suggestions for even cuter picture :
Go down to their head level (even that means crouching or laying on your stomach) and focus on their eyes.
This thing is really useless.
I own one and still have. Right now it is collecting dust in the storage, doing better than when it was plug in.
I have asthma and since this is my health, spending $250+ at that time does not seems so bad.
After a couple of months, this thing start to make...
montanafan,
I think you got it backward.
Stopping down means making the lens aperture smaller, hence the big number (2.8 to 4, or 4 to 8)
This usually for sharper image.
Open up is the other way around (f4 to f2.8)
This produce really shallow DoF.
LordSegan,
I assume you have the 50mm...

I would have gladly donate all 4 of my Arby's sammich to her.
I was really hungry so I went to Arby's and got 4 for $5 deal.
The sandwiches that I got do not look anything like the one in their pictures.
They are so small and thin (like Nicole Richie), look at this :
Comparison
No wonder they are so cheap :(
Thanks for the recipe.
2 questions :
1. this recipe is for what size loaf ? (1, 1.5, or 2 lb loaf ?)
2. can I substitute the 1 - cup Whole wheat flour with the all purpose flour ?
I was considering BB ATI X700 Pro deal but after looking at some benchmark, this is a no brainer.
btw, I have Antec Sonata with original power supply. Will this be enough for 6600GT ?
