Thank you for the useful tips, as always. Actually adjusting the gamma did make it worse, after I returned to the previous settings the gradation was significantly reduced. I can still see it on gradients, but I guess I'll live with it until I buy a colorimeter. I have one more question...

xtnight, is banding a common issue with non-tn panels? From what I read this was only a problem with 6 bit panels that used dithering. I have an HP LP2465, manufactured in april 2008, so it's not an early revision, but it shows visible banding in gradients, especially in grey tones. Is there...

xtknight, what would you choose between a Dell 2407WFP rev A04 and a HP LP2465? I managed to find both of them at the same price. Primarily use: graphics for web and office work. thanks!

LG W2420P - affordable 24" H-IPS monitor, sRGB

W2420P is sRGB: http://www.hardforums.com/show...033851805&postcount=10 You're talking about the other LG 24" (W2420R) - that has a wide gamut and LED backlight.

yes, that is 400 euros, sorry. according to Monitor Panel Search from tftcetral, the panel will be H-IPS. The rest of the information is true, it was confirmed by Nils Seib, the PR responsable from LG Germany.

Hello everybody! I'm surprised that I didn't find anything regarding this monitor on anandtech forum. This will be an excellent choice for users concerned by quality and color accuracy - at a price of $400. There will also be a 22" version that will cost around $260. I'm looking forward to buy...

thanks a lot, Dave. this is rather odd. the benq stands appear to weigh only 400 grams, whereas the hp weighs 3.7 kg. that's a huge difference and the benq seems to be even sturdier from the pics.

Hey guys. I'm trying to determine how much will weigh the display (24") I'm about to purchase without the stand (Benq FP241W or HP LP2465 ~ 10.7 kg). I want to mount it on an ergotron lx stand that supports a maximum of 9.1 kg. Will this be able to sustain the weight? thanks!

if I recall corectly, that display can only be connected to a macbook. I may be wrong. @ghitz: that is the situation here, unfortunately. they will also try to find all sorts of stupid reasons to avoid refunding the money. that's why I want to be sure that I am buying the right monitor...

I read a lot about that HP and it seems great, but it is much more expensive than the two benq monitors (here it costs between 750 and 800 dollars). Is there any difference regarding image quality between benq FP241VW and FP241W ? I am asking because the first one is advertised almost...

well the price is great, but I am worried about that blackout problem. Also in my country the return policies are terrible. So even if I return the monitor for a full refund I still have to wait for a month or two to get my money back. And that would be really nasty.

Hey ghitz, thanks for your reply. I actually have 2 main reasons why I didn't consider that dell: - here in romania it is significantly more expensive (around $200) than the other two and I don't seem to find one with A01 revision - it has an extended gamut which is a bit of a concern for me...
